Meredith Louise Vieira, an American broadcast journalist and television personality, was born on December 30, 1953. Her estimated net worth is $45 million. Mother Mary Elsie and father Edwin Vieira welcomed Meredith into the world in Providence, Rhode Island. Richard Cohen, a professor at Columbia University, is her husband. They are parents of three kids.
In 1975, Meredith Vieira received a magna cum laude degree from Tufts University. The same year, she began working as a news reporter for a regional radio station (WORC radio in Worcester, Massachusetts), and shortly after that, she switched to covering local television news. Vieira continued her career by reporting for CBS in New York City and Chicago. She began working as a field correspondent for West 57th in 1985, which led to a similar position with 60 Minutes. After some time, she was hired as a co-anchor for the CBS Morning News.
Vieira experienced a meteoric rise to fame in 1997 as one of five co-hosts of The View. She moderated the program and developed a reputation for her openness and candor.
