Elizabeth Howard Painter

Elizabeth Howard Painter, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Thursday, April 25th, 2024 at NHC at the age of 94. Mrs. Painter was born in Hazard, Kentucky to the late Carol B. and Helen Burnette Howard. During her life she worked as a secretary for TVA and United Telephone Company and was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and Wesley Heights United Methodist Church in Tullahoma. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Painter was preceded in death by her husband, George R. Painter, Sr. She is survived by two sons, Bill Fields and Jim (Deb) Fields; step-son, George R. (Judy) Painter, Jr.; step-daughters, Brenda, Ritchie, Stella, and Leona; granddaughters, Abby Key, Malinda Stenberg, Betsy Haley, Monna Davis, and Morgan Fields; grandson, Tyler Fields; great-granddaughters, Katie, Anndee, Anna, Navy, Piper, Millie, and Miriam; and great-grandsons, Kevin and Jedidiah. Visitation for Mrs. Painter will be held on Sunday, April 28th, 2024 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 1:00-3:00pm with the funeral to immediately follow at 3:00pm with her son, Rev. Jim Fields officiating. A private family burial will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Nashville at a later date.
