How Old is Sharon Case on The Young and the Restless?
The big question on everyone’s minds lately is how old is Y&R actress Sharon Case. You wouldn’t guess it by looking at the Sharon Rosales actress, but she’s 51 years old. The blonde beauty was born on February 9, 1971.
Case was very young when she started her 28-year (and counting) run on The Young and the Restless. The character of Sharon Collins debuted in 1994 with Monica Potter in the role but that actress was fired, says Potter, because she was “terrible” on the soap.
Heidi Mark was also in and out in 1994, another ill-fit for the role. Then, Sharon Case landed the role in September 1994 and stuck with it ever since. So, how old is Sharon Collins Newman Abbott Newman McCall McAvoy Rosales?
The character is said to have a birthdate of 1975 based on a party thrown for her as she debuted on Young and Restless. Sharon Rosales was 19 way back then while the actress was four years older. Sticking with that, the character is about 47 years old now.
So, how does that age compare to her intended new fling, Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd). There’s quite a gap between her and Chance. But it’s not unprecedented on the CBS soap opera — or any other daytime drama for that matter.
How Old is Chance Chancellor on Young and the Restless – How Old is Sharon Rosales?
The next question bothering fans is how old is Chance Chancellor — and what’s the age difference between Chance and Sharon, his presumed future girlfriend on Young and the Restless?
Looking at just their characters, Philip Chancellor IV (aka Chance Chancellor) was born in 1988 compared to the actor who plays him, who was born in 1993. The character of Chance is 34 but the actor’s not quite 30 years old.

So, that puts an age difference of 13 years between Sharon Rosales and her future lover Chance. But when you look at Case and Floyd in scenes, they don’t look 22 years apart in age — which is what the actor’s difference in ages is.
You have to admit that Sharon Case looks at least 10 years younger than she is. And with his scruffy hair and beard, Conner Floyd can play well into his 30s as Chance. And he replaced Donny Boaz, who was 42, much closer in age to Case…

So, there’s not such a glaring perceived age gap between Chance and the blonde, but it still bothers some The Young and the Restless fans. But this is nothing new in the soap opera universe.
In fact, Chance’s on-screen soon-to-be-ex-wife is a decade older than him. Melissa Ordway, who plays Abby Newman, is 39 compared to Floyd’s 29.
Conner Floyd’s Age Gap with Chance Scene Partner Not So Big on Y&R on CBS
Sharon Case’s first on-screen soap husband was Joshua Morrow, aka Nick Newman. There’s three years difference in their real-life ages (she’s slightly older) but their characters are only one year apart in age on the soap with Sharon being older.
Then, in 2007, when Sharon Rosales was 32, she married Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) when he was 54 — a three-decade age gap. But he wasn’t even her oldest husband on Young and the Restless.
When her character was 37, she married Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) when he (and his character) were 71. That’s a 34-year difference in ages. She also married Tucker McCall (then Stephen Nichols), who was 18 years her senior.
Huge age disparity is common in soaps, but usually with a much-older man getting with a younger woman. Yet when the woman’s older, it seems to bother soap fans more for some reason. That’s what seems to be happening with her and Chance now.
For now, Young and Restless showrunners show no signs of concern over pairing Sharon Case with Conner Floyd, an actor 22 years younger than her.
They seem to have genuine chemistry but a legion of fans are hoping to see her back with her ex Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). Although, he’s the youngest actor to play the role at 35, 10-12 years younger than past actors Michael Muhney and Justin Hartley.
