Alameda High School Reviews

Although I've only been here for one year, Alameda High School has been a blessing to attend. At first, my expectations were low and I didn't think high school could get better. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the community. Before I transferred, my high school was predominantly white and I never got to hang out with people culturally similar to me. But when I walked into Alameda High, I was surrounded by a diversity of students. I naturally became ecstatic and excited for my senior year. I quickly became involved with the community, going to basketball games, football games, and assemblies, meeting all kinds of new people. I found a friend group, finding belonging and people who care about me. And if there's any change I'd wish for, they'd only be minor gripes and complaints. With that being said, Alameda, I beg you to let shops and restaurants stay open later in the night!
Coming to this school was the worst decision I have ever made. Don't come here unless you want to deal with unfair sports, completely rude administration and staff, and unfair accusations made against students with rules that aren't respecting of everyone and their situations.
My experience with Alameda High School has been more than satisfactory. As a freshman, I have felt very welcomed into the community. My school has so much spirit and pride. It really shows at our assemblies and sporting event's. My best experiences so far has been with my high school’s women’s water polo team and attending a unity assembly before our thanksgiving break. One thing I like is my school spotlights an issue every month to bring awareness, such as breast cancer awareness and suicide prevention. The couple bad experiences I’ve had are with school lunch and not having many options for AP classes as an underclassmen. I’d like to see improvements to both of those in the future.
