Neighborhood: Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.

We loved this place. My husband is a real metal head, but even for someone less into that music like myself, it’s great fun. Staff is SO friendly , and despite their limited English (standard in Japan), they try hard to make conversation and are interested in where you’re from. There was a cool mix of Japanese locals and tourists from USA, Australia, Finland and France, all crammed into this tiny bar covered in metal posters & neon signs. Great atmosphere. Slightly expensive drinks but delicious & interesting things like plum sour cocktails or green tea with vodka. Be okay with smoking as the small place quickly fills with cigarette smoke; smoking indoors in bars is normal in Japan.

One of my friends recommended this bar in Shinjuku. It's located a short walk from Shinjuku station or Shinjuku Sanchome station. The staff (Yukio, Azzy, and Ryutaro) are very friendly and will play any music you desire (preferably hard rock). The patrons are also friendly here and it's easy to strike up a conversation.

I highly recommend this bar if you are in Tokyo. Although its small, you can easily find it on google maps.

Small bar, blink and you'll miss it. Shots for the whole bar if you ring the cowbell. Also the more you will drink the more they will play your requests.

You can easily not find this place. There’s a small sign on a doorway to a stairs to first floor. The place can hold about 20 people and is a dark rocker homage to AC/DC, Motörhead and Metallica. Fair prices for drinks in Shinjuku.

When everywhere else was packed this was a great find.

Good for us aging rockers!!
