Purcell Marian High School Reviews
Rating 3.75 out of 5 113 reviews
Toxic environment for students and student athletes! This is a school that accepts bullying behaviors from coaches and teachers. The coach/teacher in question is unlicensed by the state of Ohio. A common theme with the school's administration is to water down parents complaints and not address them. I complained to the school administration and archdioceses about the coach/unlicensed teacher bullying my child and there was no investigation. Instead, the coach/unlicensed teacher that it was a joke to report him to the archdiocese.
Throughout my high school journey at Purcell Marian, I have found both good and bad things about the school. Considering all aspects of the school I believe that the community, activities, and academics at the school are exceptional. At Purcell, the teachers don't just teach you the subject but instead interact with you and try to look at subjects from different perspectives. They put great effort into being able to make subjects understandable and for students to be able to grasp the subjects to the best of their ability. Furthermore, the community at Purcell is even more exceptional. Due to the fact that it is a smaller school, most students know each other making the community even stronger. Although there are many good aspects to Purcell, there are also downsides. One of the major downsides that I experienced was that of the food. Purcell Marian partners with an organization named W.g. Grinders but it's the same food every day and if this changed the school would be great.
I am a senior at Purcell Marian High School. Purcell Marian has been my home for the past 4 years. I call it home because it feels like family. The teachers, counselors and administration make an effort to really connect with the students. Even during the crisis with the covid-19 pandemic, I never loss academic ground because they made the transition to remote learning smooth. Purcell Marian is not a huge high school so extra attention and assistance is available for the students. I would recommend Purcell Marian to anyone who is looking for a high school with great teachers and a close family feel.
