On Thursday afternoon, former No. 1 overall recruit and Gonzaga star Chet Holmgren announced his NBA draft decision.

"As I take the next step towards my dream and declare for the 2022 NBA Draft, I do so with so much gratitude for all that you've done to get me here," Holmgren said in a statement to his former coaches, teammates and the fans. "I will always represent Gonzaga and do my best to make you proud. As I continue to grind and work as hard as I can, I know you'll have my back along the way."

Fans immediately flocked to Twitter to react to his decision. Of course, Gonzaga fans are sad to see him go, but wishing him well on his future.

"Represent the Zags with pride moving forward! You were a pleasure to watch this season and the future is SO BRIGHT! #ZagUp Once a Zag Always a Zag!" one fan said.

"Time to get this legacy started in the league," said another fan.

Fans are already predicting where Holmgren will land next.

"chet holmgren YOU my friend are a houston rocket!" said one fan.

Holmgren is expected to be in the running for the No. 1 overall pick when the NBA draft kicks off.
