Vincent Gray, D.C. Council member, suffers stroke - The Washington Post

Vincent C. Gray, a member of the D.C. Council and a former mayor of the District, suffered a stroke after checking himself into a hospital over the weekend, his council office said Monday night.

Gray (D-Ward7) checked himself into a hospital after developing bronchitis last week and not feeling well, his office said. While at the hospital, he had a mild stroke, according to his office.

He was feeling well Monday evening and worked on council business from the hospital, his office said.

Gray will not attend Tuesday’s scheduled council sessions, the office said, but described Gray as upbeat and eager to return home and to his office.

He served one term as mayor, starting in 2011.
