After making a mark in the viewers’ hearts for her successful roles in Us Again, Beauty and the Boss, Mano Po Legacy: Her Big Boss, and Regal Studio Presents, Sarah Edwards is now more than ready to spread her wings and prove her versatility in the new action-comedy series Batang Quiapo.
In the modern adaptation of Fernando Poe Jr.’s 1986 film, Sarah shared a glimpse of her role in Batang Quiapo during our exclusive interview with her. “I play the role of Fatima, she and her father are part of a Muslim community. They are an important part of Tanggol’s life,” she said.
When asked about her experiences on the set, she gleefully shared: “I learn something new everyday sa set ng Batang Quiapo. Everyone is very warm and welcoming. Kahit na first time ko sila makilala, I feel very comfortable being around them. They make it easy for me to be myself, akala mo matagal na kami magkakasama.”
Aside from completing several workshops, Sarah still acknowledged that Regal Entertainment exposed her to a variety of roles and personas, and that has played a big part in successfully putting herself in her character’s shoes.
Finally, Sarah got candid about what we would expect from her in Batang Quiapo, she remarked: “We have a lot of similarities. What you can expect to see is the soft side of me. Gentle, caring, family-oriented, and respectful towards her family.”
Batang Quiapo, a modern retelling of one of FPJ’s classics, will surely induce waves of excitement as it stars Coco Martin, Lovi Poe, Charo Santos, Christopher de Leon, John Estrada, Cherry Pie Picache, Pen Medina, Lito Lapid, Tommy Abuel, Susan Africa, Allan Paule, Mark Lapid, Ronwaldo Martin, Mercedes Cabral, Sarah Edwards, and more.
