Despacito in any form

Well, since you didn't specify genre - Tomorrow, from Annie.

Maybe you’ll change your mind

It’s only a day away

Soul sister, not only is it a garbage song from a pretentious piece of walking human shit, but it used to play at jet engine levels over the restaurant speaker while I was getting bent over in a hot kitchen making minimum wage

I dunno what it was like to fight in nam but it probably felt similar

That one stupid song that was on like every video a year ago.

"OH no oh no oh no no no no no no." I went out of my way to actively block channels that used that fucking song.

Maybe uptown funk

Baby shark do doo doo dooooooooo

This Will Be by Natalie Cole. As a retail worker, this song is cruel and unusual torture.

Sweet Caroline

American Pie, Under the Bridge, the stupid Bears in the Woods song, anything by Anne Murray, Hey There Delilah, The Reason...

The list goes on and on.

Summertime Sadness from Lana Del Ray.

I used to like the song. My brother has been playing it really loud and on repeat for months now. I can't stand this song anymore.

I know there's going to be outrage over this one... Mariah Carey All I want for Christmas if I hear that song one more time I'm going to scream they literally start playing at Halloween!!!

Friday by Rebecca black(I think this is her)

The office at my work plays it every Friday so I've started playing Long Hot Summer Day by turnpike troubadours in response

Chelsea Dagger by The Fratellis Call me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen Those two are interchangeable at 1/2 for me.

Semisonic, Closing Time. I hate it and it stays in my head.

“What’s Up”.

Love is Gone by SLANDER - most of my hatred comes from how it’s ALWAYS played over the medical shows on TikTok, often so loud you can’t focus on the actual show. Now whenever I hear it I go into a feral rage

Anything from Momma Mia

Not songs so much as artists. Lil Peep and anyone who sounds like him. Those almost slurred sounding vocals. No. Danzig too. I can't stand Danzig (no problem with Samhain or Misfits, just Danzig).

There's a song called "Hero" by a group which I believe was called "Family of the year" and frankly, I have a visceral hatred for it. I don't like the text, I don't like the rythm and I especially do not like the phlegmatic attempt at a melody.

Some nights by Fun. The autotune is horrendous. What made it worse was that it was like on the top 100 for a bit so it would play repeatedly

I just realized where in the song you mean, toward the end, the melismas. I think that may be a deliberate artistic choice, to sound mechanical on purpose? I love the drum riff. Check out his song with Pink, neither one of them *needs* autotune.

The woo woo vocal rhythm part in Rolling Stone's Sympathy For The Devil in intolerable. A number of the Holiday/ Christmas songs sound like obsessive compulsive disorder made audible, like McCartney's Simply Having A Wonderful... . Also, I hate Bob Dylan's vocals; but Joe Cocker is fine.

"My way" the funeral anthem of every obnoxious, bigoted, boozing, womanising man.

Ebony and Ivory by McCartney and Wonder means we'll, but is beyond twee and soppy.

u/Less-Board-5636 avatar

Every single Christmas song. I don't hate Christmas, but can not stand any song I've ever heard about it. Hate it so much

u/LurkingandPosting avatar

This is going to be an unpopular opinion, but I absolutely hate the song "Stairway to Heaven".

Every song has brought at least one person joy, the listener, and multiple people joy, the creators. I'd hate to take that away from anyone.

Gangnam style.

Europe the final countdown.

That is absolutely the worst attempt at prog in history. Just unbelievably bad.

Just not a fan. My #2 somebody already posted. Annie. Ugh.

That Killers song. Can’t remember the name.

I’m going to suggest ‘Uptown Girl’ by Billy Joel but it’s very important to see the video while you’re at it, it’s a case of the sum being greater than the parts… just ghastly

There were some amazing songs early on in his career and then...
