Van Nuys Senior High School Reviews
Rating 3.76 out of 5 538 reviews
The best part of my school was the engaging teachers who go above and beyond to help students succeed, a diverse student body that fosters a sense of community and inclusivity, a wide variety of extracurricular activities and clubs to explore interests, and strong academic programs that challenge and support students in their learning journey. On the other hand, some students might face challenges such as overcrowded classrooms, a lack of resources or support for certain programs or extracurricular activities, issues with bullying and social dynamics. If I were to suggest changes for my school, I would advocate for smaller class sizes to facilitate more individualized attention, increased funding for underrepresented programs, implement more robust anti-bullying initiatives or mental health support services.
The best part about going to this school is that it is a highly qualified school for me as it has been one of the oldest schools, dating back to 100 years old. Also, there are many facilities and resources that really help me. The school also financially helps students in paying for AP classes or exams because we don’t have to pay to take any classes and even for the AP exams, we have to pay less compared to other schools. However, there are many drawbacks as the standards and quality of the school has deteriorated over time. There can be multiple improvements made to the system of the school and the school itself with them taking actions to change to school back to its original standards. I would like the school to observe and put more emphasis into the teachers and staff they get as sometimes they can get unqualified teachers and staff in the school which could affect the students and their grades in a negative way. Overall, I would make many improvements to this school’s system.
I like the teachers at Van Nuys; they are always open to helping students reach their academic and personal goals. Great performing arts and magnet program, lots of opportunities to play sports but at a low level. Generally a good school academic wise.
