Descripción del producto
Contraportada
Primetime Propaganda is the story of how television has been used over the past sixty years by Hollywood writers, producers, actors, and executives to promote their liberal ideals, to push the envelope on social and political issues, and to shape America in their own leftist image.
In this thoroughly researched and detailed history of the television industry, the conservative columnist and bestselling author Ben Shapiro argues that left-leaning entertainment kingpins in Los Angeles and New York have leveraged—and continue to use—their positions and power to push liberal messages and to promote the Democratic Party while actively discriminating against their opponents on the right. According to Shapiro, television isn't just about entertainment—it's an attempt to convince Americans that the social, economic, and foreign policy shaped by leftism is morally righteous.
But don't take his word for it. Shapiro interviewed more than one hundred of the industry's biggest players, including Larry Gelbart (M*A*S*H), Marta Kauffman (Friends), David Shore (House), and Mark Burnett (Survivor). Many of these insiders boast that not only is Hollywood biased against conservatives, but that many of the shows being broadcast have secret political messages. After reading this groundbreaking exposé, readers will never watch television the same way again.

If you Disagree with the preise hol your views up to Mr Shapiro's arguments, it will leave you stronger or smarter and wiser.
This bias is something I have long suspected, which may be why I stopped regularly watching TV 15 years ago. To see the creators of TV shows arrogantly talk about how they successfully propagandized generations of Americans to the liberal way of thinking is alarming. It isn't just that they are intolerant of people with opposing views, they don't even know (or even want to know) what those views are. They surround themselves with like minded people and black list anyone suspected of not being part of their progressive movement.
To them, whatever it is that they believe is unalloyed good. Opposing views (i.e. anyone who disagrees with them) are wrong and possibly evil. They therefore have a moral obligation to inculcate their beliefs into the public, starting when they are just children. Failing to understand opposing views, they create straw men to represent opposition. These straw men they ridicule and belittle in the guise of entertainment. These limousine liberals utterly lack self-awareness. They embody the ultimate in greed: not satisfied with just being fabulously wealthy, famous, and powerful, they also demand to be seen as "good". They congratulate themselves and each other for their good works. They are in fact enemies of the people.
I suspect historians, many decades from now, will compare this to the McCarthy era.
He goes through the whole history of programming and reveals a clear agenda. More than just selling advertising through good programs, ideology controls the narrative. The book is full of quotes from executives who prove that by what they say.
