Fairfax tomb locked gate and missing flit switch

Fable II

So when you enter the Fairfax tomb via the castle library there is a locked gate in the first room straight ahead. Also if you go down the staircase in a big room there is also a place where the flit switches go. Does anyone know if the gate can be opened or if there are any flit switches to use? Note: I have done the quest when the castle gets attacked and unlocked the sex change potion so these two things I’m asking have nothing to do with that mission. Also sorry for the low quality photos

I've always had the same question, but I guess it's just cut content.

Damn

Is that a cape?

Yeah, it’s part of the knothole knight suit

Ohhhh fuck, I know I've done this before but I can't remember what it is.

If you remember please let me know

Edited

I found a comment about a nearby statue with a pressure plate by the bottom. Is that ringing any bells? I can't remember if it's part of either quest

I don’t recall seeing any statues in this area. I even busted some crates to see if there were any plates around. I also looked around too see any flit switches too but found nothing

This gate has unironically haunted me for 14 years, I'm fucking BEGGING anyone to figure something out, data mine, glitches, concept art, fucking anything at this point. I played this when I was like 10-11 and it always killed me that I could never figure out what it was for.

Unfortunately my best guess is that it's there as background storytelling, to show how the bandits broke into the castle without going through the rooms with the treasures, potions, puzzles, etc. I fucking h a t e that as an answer tho

I feel your pain. Shame fable 2 didn’t come on PC because someone would’ve solved this years ago

Not me literally having a dream about this just last night lmfao I gotta quit taking melatonin every day
