Ryan Hansen, who played Dick Casablancas in all four seasons of Veronica Mars, says the noir mystery drama could be back with new episodes.

"Everyone's game is to do it. I love playing Dick," Henson told Bleeding Cool when answering questions about a potential revival. The actor also touched on the Season 4 death of Jason Dohring's character, Logan Echolls, and how the show could work around it after the backlash from fans. "I think the fans were bummed by how that season ended. If there's a twist on how that could be reversed, I don't know. Maybe not… I don't know. I honestly don't know. I think it would do it."

Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas views Season 4's shocking death as a gamble that with either make or break the show's future.

In 2019, Hensen talked about Logan's death in the Veronica Mars Season 4 finale, saying that the show needed to make some bold choices. "Well, I do know that fans had a very hard time with it," the actor explained. "But I feel like that's the way the show was kind of heading, and it needed to kind of grow up and do that kind of stuff. My character will never grow up, so I hope we get to keep doing it, and I get to be Dick," he added.

Veronica Mars Season 5 Could Happen If Scheduling Allows It

Although Season 4 ended with a cliffhanger, there are no official plans for a fifth outing. Series star Kristen Bell previously explained that the biggest obstacle facing a potential renewal was the complicated schedules of its cast and crew. "I don't know, it's not really how [soon I would want to return] so much as holes in everyone's schedules," Bell said. "It's kind of like a puzzle you have to put together to find the time frame. That's a bad answer, but it's the truth. It's all logistics."

Veronica Mars star Jason Dohring reacts to Season 4's series altering, controversial twist.

Created by Rob Thomas, Veronica Mars premiered on UPN on Sept. 22, 2004, before moving to The CW for its third season. The series follows Veronica Mars (Kristen Bell), a high school and later college student in Neptune, California. Season 1 focuses on her investigation into the murder of her best friend, Lilly Kane (Amanda Seyfried), alongside her father and former Sheriff Keith Mars (Enrico Colantoni).

Although the series was canceled after its third season, a 2014 Kickstarter campaign successfully funded a feature film titled Veronica Mars that continued the titular character's story. In 2019, Hulu revived the series for an eight-episode fourth season. Set five years after the events of the movie, it explored a new mystery involving bombings during spring break.

All four seasons of Veronica Mars are available to stream on Hulu.
