This small restaurant is an absolute jewel! The best 'no-nonsense' fine dining meal I have ever had. Our 4 course menu with the lamb starter, rabbit fettuccine and duck as a main course was A M A Z I N G ! Add the brilliant creme brulé dessert and we could not ask for a better meal. Our Rioja Reserva was the perfect wine for the meal. Our aperitives and wine were very reasonably priced. This restaurant is a 'must visit' when in Nüremberg.

The is a fine gourmet restaurant with excellent food, an amuse bouche, and sorbet between courses. We loved the small size and owner's special help and friendliness, which has been uncommon in our visits to upscale restaurants in Germany. As we left, her husband, the chef, greeted us giving us the chance to thank him warmly.

The minimal menu should not be feared, it suggests they are cooking from scratch and with fresh produce. Excellent quality for food and service.

The tasting menu at Restauration Fischer was incredible. Without going into too much detail, I will say that the food was really great and that I would go back there if I were anywhere in the area. A few of the courses we enjoyed were, a creme brûlée made of goose liver, roasted lamb with asparagus, grilled shrimp, tagliatelle with chanterelles, mango sorbet and so much more!

Beautiful decor and very nice waiting staff. Food was very tasty and well presented. I chose the land menu and the beef dish with morels was just fantastic. Just one comment, service was a little slow but I guess this was due to the large table that was also there.

We had an absolutely delicious meal at this restaurant. They have an interesting pair of set menus but we chose a la carte - salmon tartar with trout roe on a rosti base, turbot with chanterelles, prawns with risotto. The wine list is extensive and includes many other offerings besides local wine. We were delighted with our meal and would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for something a little bit special in Nuremberg.

Miss 13’s birthday celebrated while we were on holidays. 4 courses, plus amuse bouche and sorbet and nibbles for €62 per head. Gorgeous food superbly plated. My favourite was the prawns on balsamic lentils, Miss 13 likes the smoked salmon tartare. Mr 62 liked it all! Good wine list. This was the highlight of our two weeks so far in Austria/Germany.

We had no trouble making a reservation for the same evening through the Fischer's website. Beautiful building, cozy interior, excellent service, thoughtful and delicious four-course menus. It was not cheap, but it was a real value for the experience.

Wonderful atmospheric old inn style restaurant with fine food totally spoilt at the end by the waiter who turned extremely nasty arguing over a tip. Owner chef Mr Fischer had left by that time otherwise would have complained heavily to him. The waiter in question whose name I recall was Werner should have no place in a fine establishment such as this, take note Mr Fischer !

Small restaurant with five star unpretentious dining. Two choices:meat or seafood. The bacon wrapped scallops fried were divine. So was the rest of the meal. It is a dining experience that takes four hours, no less. Enjoy.

I found the Chef pretentious, I'm sure he scoffed a couple of times as I walked in casualy dressed. The food was OK however for the price I wasn't impressed.

This small restaurant is housed in a beautifully restored 15th century guest house. The restoration is in good taste and well excecuted. The rooms feel loved and lived in. One can feel that the owners spend a lot of time on premises (which they undoubtedly do). The menu is appealing and brief. One was tempted in different directions. Two four course menus are offered; one by land and two by sea. Our table chose the fish menu. The chef offered an amuse bouche of a small insalata caprese with roast tomatoes. Caprese rises and falls on the quality of the ingredients. Here the mozzarella di bufala was of perfect quality and offset by gorgeous tomatoes and chopped basil. The oil and vinegar were pitch perfect and not overdone. The first course was a salmon tartare served with an avocado mousse (thanks Pacojet) on a perfectly crisp Swiss potato rösti. This was accompanied by a simple frisee salad. The tartare was excellent but the real trick was the smooth creaminess of the avocado balanced with the crunch of the potato. The second course consisted of scallops wrapped in bacon and served in a cream of celery and potatoes. This all came together perfectly with the bacon adding depth without ruining the delicacy. That's not easy and my compliments to the chef. We were served a palate cleanser of homemade sorbet. Here I agree with other reviews that suggest that it might have a been a bit lighter and drier to serve its intended function. That said, the idea of a palate cleanser is delightfully old fashioned and I really liked that they offered this. Our main course was filets of Turbot on a bed of lentils stewed with balsamic vinegar. This was accompanied by perfectly cooked autumn vegetables. I am sorry to say that I found the fish about a thirty seconds to a minute overcooked; just enough to lose it delicacy. The flavor was all there but the dish deserved the intended texture. Dessert was a whole stewed Williams pear accompanied by pear sorbet and chocolate mousse. Here the sorbet really worked and the combination was old fashioned nice restaurant food of the kind that few people serve anymore. It made for a satisfying end to a very satisfying meal. The wine list is smartly organized with good champagne on offer by the glass as an aperitif. The selection ranges from inexpensive but intelligently selected bottles to wonderful indulgences. Beautiful bottles of Montrachet caught my eye, though today was not that kind of Sunday. We made our way quite well with a modest and dry Soave. Our waiter ran the upstairs dining room alone, and his craft was absolutely flawless. He spoke professional English and was present without ever being intrusive. There was absolutely no background noise and everything was as discreet, efficient, and warm as one might expect in a very fine restaurant in London, Paris, or New York. It is a pleasant surprise to find such stellar service in a restaurant at this price point in a medium size German town. Lastly, a note about the table service. I've really come to despise the swooping bad-joke porcelain that perfectly good chefs seem to embrace these days. Here the table was set with cobalt glass chargers, absolutely normal round plates, nice cutlery, good linens modestly folded, and polished stemware. Those details make the room, exalt the food, and together with the service make the meal. Do give Restauration Fischer a try.

This was the best food we had during a short stay in Nuremberg recently. We sampled the set menu which is available with substitute dishes possible. The lone chef worked in full view and was very skilled indeed. The food was delicious and well cooked. Unobtrusive service was most welcome - altogether an excellent experience.
