First I would like to correct anyone who thinks that RZA did production on the CD. He didn't do a single beat on the CD but as executive producer he merely checked to see the final result. So this isn't like Talib and DJ Hi-Tek type stuff.
On to the CD: Cappadonna is better than his debut in terms of his lyrics which is a wonderful sign at least. I think that his wisdom has grown and his sense of rhyming is smoother, particularly in intricate verse dropping, say in, the song One Way 2 Zion. However, apart from Raekwon, the guest artists don't compare very well.
The Grits is a cool song with horns but when you check out the sample it's a 1997 Latino band. That's rather hilarious because those horns are clean sounding and not dirty like RZA's style. You can't go too wrong however because it is funky all the same.
Super Model is the best track but it needs some scratching or something to break up the beat. True Master has produced a dope banger at least to Wu standards w/ his guitar blues sample.
War Rats was rather impressive with its odd and atonal harp sounds which I liked a lot. The complexity was rather great indeed. Cappadonna drops a wonderful metaphor about ending street violence.
Bread of Life is the most complext song in terms of lyrics. Cappadonna uses a Biblical metaphor to damn the secular nature of today's world... The production is alright and has some dope strings but they are too synth for my liking.
Love Is the Message is the most danceable track on the CD no doubt. The chopped up sample of a disco hit which was rather popular proves that the Wu can have fun no doubt. This hit was banging for me.
We Know and Shake Dat are the worst tracks of the CD. Wu techno music, please no! And jermaine dupri's production can suck my d baby. That synth digi sound is so lousy and yes those are for clubs but Cappadonna should have used RZA or Pete Rock or Primo at least.
Big Business is fabulous with the guest Shyheim. He talks about the fact that money doesn't rule everything and I enjoyed its message. The sampling I think is good and competent at least.
Revenge is more relaxed and talks about the psychology of being a tough guy in a harsh world. The production is fairly good and I have not too many complaints except that it's too simple for my ears...
One Way 2 Zion and Save the Children (bonus track) are fabulous no doubt. They have a positive message for the community and at least they are able to define the Wu agenda for the future. The production with a sampled banjo is cool and Wu country music would be funny in the future (hee hee)... By the way, Save the Children has the same message as ERic B and Rakim's old song. Check out that version too...
Overall, this disc was banging most of the time and please no So So Def crap on it next time. The Wu don't need to ruin a CD with wack artists and horrible danceclub production. They need deep beats with offkilter loops and the old dirty shhhhh....
Peace and I'm outta here, Beat Detective.

Cappadonna's new album "The Ying and The Yang" is ill. Totally differant from his first album "The Pillage". Cappadonna grew with his lyrics and now gives you more jewelz(knowledge) for your dollar. He also has a new brand of producers on this album. although I think every Wu album should be strickly Wu produced. Like Cappa's first album.(rza, Tru Master, 4th Diciple, Allah mathamatics) this Cappa has new wu producers and it's still banging. The only tracks I'm not feeling are "We Know" with Da Brat and J.D.(which has no business being on a Wu album in the first place) and Shake Dat. Besides those two songs the other 8 and the bonus song "Save The Children" are banging. Some producers that he used are 8-off, Inspectah Deck, Neoneok, Gold Fingaz(which produced some of his first album, and of course Supermodel banger from Tru Master. Rza I think did a song but not sure he arranged the album. Some of his artists are 8-off off the banger "The Grits" Killahpriest and Neoneok off the ill "bread of Life" song and Raekwon off the oringnal joint "Love is The Message". Shyheim and Crunch(new Wu underground kat) on "Big Business". Timbo King(off that Popa Wu album) on the banger "Revenge" and Culture(a reggae kat) on "One Way To Zion", and "Save The Children" which are deep knowledge bangers. This album though was supported to come out a while ago, I think Cappa could have went to the studio and added a few more joints but neverless this effort from Cappa is ill and I like this album. Has you waiting for all the Wu projects supposed to come out this year. Next up is Remedy's album coming 4/17. Go pick up this new album from Cappadonna in the meantime because it's another Jewel(knowledge) from the Wu-Tang libary. Peace

PEEP THIS TO ALL THAT ARE DISSIN THIS ALBUM LIKE CAP SAID, F*!K U, THIS ALBUM IS FOR THOSE WHO R INTO DEEP THINKIN, AND THAT ARE TIRED ABOUT HEARING ABOUT ICE,BENTLIES AND ECT. NO DOUBT SUPPER MODEL IS THE HOTTEST TRACK ON THERE, JERMAIN DUPREE, YES HAS TO GO, BUT UNLIKE CAPPA'S FIRST ALBUM U CAN LISTEN TO THIS ALL THE WAY THROUGH, ONE OF THE REVIEWERS SAID THAT U-GODS ALBUM IS A WHOLE LOT BETTER, HE OBVIOUSLY LISTEN TO HIS LYRICS WITH A DEAF EAR.SHAKE IS A DOWN SOUTH TYPE TRACK MENT TO BE PLAYED IN THE CLUBS, IM FEELIN THIS ALBUM NOT BECAUSE I KNOW CAP, BUT BECAUSE THERE ARE A LOT OF MEDSSAGES IN THISS ALBUM, BUT ALL THE BLAME GOES ON SONY FOR TAKING OFF A LOT OF THE OTHER TRACKS SO DONT BLAME CAPP, THATS MY WORD, U WILL ENJOY THIS ALBUM,THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER 36 CHAMBERS,AND ANOTHER CUBAN LINKS, SO STOP LOOKIN 4 ANOTHER, ANY TRUE HIPHOP LISTENER OR RAPPER WILL TELL U THE FIRST ALBUM IS ALWAYS THE BEST BECAUSE ARTIST ARE THE HUNGIEST, SO COP THE ALBUM ONE!(LISTEN WITHOUT PREJUDICE)

Bought for Super Model alone...
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 4, 2012Verified Purchase
After reading other reviews of Cappa's album 'The Yin and the Yang' on here, I was reluctant to purchase it. However, I wanted this for the track 'Super Model' alone as I love it & I'm sure any true hip hop head will too. Tracks 1 & 3 are also worth a listen, but after that it sadly looses any substance or flavour. Check out Cappa's other joints or his work on other solo projects by the Clan or Wu albums and your get a true picture of his talent and rhyming skills. I would give 'Super Model' 5 stars, but I do have to rate the album & unfortunately it falls way short.
