I honestly loved going to occ and felt so safe and welcome and they were so helpful with all my needs
We have an amazing campus that is being renovated with newer buildings, amazing places to study, and amazing places to be with friends. Amazing professors work here, with a variety of schedules and professors by subject, etc. Security is good, yet there have been a lot of stolen cars and bikes. It is one of the best transfer community colleges for me, and I got accepted to five of five universities. Food options on campus are horrible, unhealthy, slow, and low options, yet around the zone, there are many options to avoid the food on campus.
Overall, I love my experience on campus, and I would recommend it to students who are not sure what to study, students who want to decrease their student education cost, or people coming back to school to learn a few new skills.

This summer will be my first experience with college. I hope all goes well while I work towards an AA degress as my goal is to transfer to a Cal State University School to work on my core studies in Fashion Design/Graphic Design and other studies

It is a community college with high standard professors who care a lot and passionate in helping their student to success. Student life and activities are very lively. Buildings are new and equipped with a lot of amenities. Great student run aquarium and a planetarium, water front campus was amazing too.
I like the diversity of people in Orange Coast College. As an international student I can say that there are many other people from all over the world, and it's very interesting to learn from each other and share experiences. Moreover, OCC campus is amazing! You can find a beautiful calm place to study in the library, or to student center, and study together with someone if it's something that helps you concentrate. I really like communication studies department. All the professors there are great, and you will have a lot of fun studying! Definitely join speech ad debate team, it's one of the strongest in the US, they won national competitions several times. Even if you think that it's something you're not interested in, my honest advice, just go to one meeting and see for yourself.
Orange coast college is a beautiful institution that has shaped educational journey in more ways than one. With so many resources and friendly staff, it's hard not be grateful for all the opportunity the school has given me. One thing that they need to improve however is their organization when it comes to planning academic path and plan for students. I spent a long time studying here and if it wasn't for the misguided advice I got from on campus counselors I would have graduated a long time ago. I spent a lot of wasted time taking unnecessary classes and although I learned a lot this definitely was way longer than I anticipated. But overall Im grateful that it's now coming to a close, and I am thankful for my time at OCC.
This school has helped me so much with figuring out how the college process works as a first generation college student in America. All of my professors have shown that they really care about their students and will go above and beyond to be there for you. I recommend this school to anybody in Orange Count.
I transferred into OCC my sophomore year. I used to think that community college was not as good of an education. I was wrong. The professors are amazing (I used rate my professors) and I love the wide range of classes I could take. It was overall a great experience! I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to finish on track with when I wanted to graduate but I finished in a year. I’d definitely check it out, don’t overwrite it like I did.
a cool and fun experience in there! i get to learn things i never did and they help me with my career of wanting to be an ultrasound tech.
I’ve had a really good experience here. All the professors I’ve had were amazing and made classes fun and engaging.
What I like about OCC is how much they care about their students. The consulars there are amazing, as are the professors. Everyone that goes there is so nice and respectful. They have a lot of different majors to pick from, and they have housing there, which is pretty cool since it's a community college. It's pretty safe there; there is security around the whole school, so you know you're safe. The school is next to so many cool places, which makes it fun to attend. Not only that, but there's so many opportunities in the school that one could take advantage of, for example, the many programs they have. Overall, OCC is a great school, and I would recommend anyone who is interested to attend.
So far it has been going well! Some classes tend to be a bit difficult but most of the teachers are very helpful and understanding!
I liked how nice the campus was. The campus is very big and there are always activities going on. I liked the new buildings they had for the LLSS and the MBCC. My professors have been great for every class I took. I liked the dorms they provided. The experience is definitely one of a kind.
I love the events that are held in the center of OCC! Everyone participating in holding the fundraisers are so nice and very informative. The facilities are also very cool to look at and the community is just very friendly. I don't feel judged walking about the campus.
Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa is definitely one of the top community colleges to attend to transfer to a 4 years university.
Most of the professors I had at Orange Coast College were extremely passionate about their field of study and enthusiastic about the material they taught. As a STEM major, planning to transfer to competitive colleges, I believe Orange Coast College has provided a lot of programs and courses that will prepare students for the rigors of 4 year universities.
I absolutely loved my time with the school. The value of education is fabulous, and I learned a lot. The different classes were interesting, ranging from marine science to international relations, and US history, to the Italian language. The staff cares a lot, and I have had some fabulous teachers.
They have so many resources and programs available to help students financially. The culture is very nice, everyone feels very welcoming and it looks very cool for a community college. There's so many programs to choose from which is great. My main issue is the fact that setting up appointments for financial aid, counseling, etc. tends to be tricky because they're always booked. And if you need to talk during the summer, it's really hard getting a hold of someone.
Had some really phenomenal professors. The campus feels like a 4 year university and the college offers alot of great resources that I found very helpful!
