We were not prepared for our guide, 68 year old Xin, her knowledge and seriously cool grandma energy! It would have been a pleasure to just have lunch with her, let alone be given such an informative and insightful tour. - WildvikingOslo, Norway104 contributionsThis is a GREAT way to sample local Shanghaiese cuisine, in places you probably wouldn’t find as a tourist on your own. Our guide, Lou Ding, was knowlegeable and friendly, sharing not only interesting details about the food we ate and it’s history and background, but also provided a friendly insight into Chines life in general and specifically in Shanghai.
Last, but by no means least: The food itself was delicious, allowing us to try a wide variety of different foods in a friendly social setting.

She is very knowledge and professional about Suzhou, Hangzhou, Shanghai, etc. She definitely can tell you a lot of history and interesting stories alone the way. If you want to know Suzhou or Shanghai better, you have to ask for Annie! The tour coordinator, Alana, communicated perfectly beforehand and we were picked up at our hotel as scheduled by our guide, May, and the driver. The drive was comfortable.
May gudied us around in Zhujiajiao and was very friendly and sweet. She was knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Our kids enjoyed spending time with her and they talked a lot with her as well.
During our tour in Zhujiajiao we visited 3 gardens/temples, had a boat trip in the canal and ate lunch at a local restaurant. May helped us pick out some local dishes. All was very good!
Thank you so much for a well arranged tour! And thank you, May, for all the tips you gave us for our last days in Shanghai.

I had several questions prior to the tour as I was organizing for a group of 8 people and Jenny was very swift and accommodating with her responses. The actual tour was conducted by Nora- she was outstanding and was able to attend to the varying queries and questions from our group of 8. She was also able to accommodate to our requests effectively as we made changes to our plans during the tour. - Qin ZRedwood City, CA1 contributionMy parents visited China ten years ago and met our guide, Joy. This month, I traveled to Shanghai for work, and my parents got in touch with Joy. She arranged this Shanghai trip for me. While kicking it in Shanghai, we even had a video chat with my parents. She's just super cool and hospitable. Joy's a Shanghai native, born and bred. She took me around local spots, like this park originally set up by the French. She introduced me to Shanghai's historical buildings and showed me its future. When she found out I love Chinese dumplings, she took me to taste the best steamed dumplings I've ever had in my life. They tasted completely different from those in the US！Big shoutout to Joy – xie xie! And hey, if you ever hit the States, drop me a line! - Frank d2 contributionsIt was extremely interesting to see the two different towns, enjoy the scenery and savour the local cuisine. The Watertown was nice and quaint, it supposedly looks like how China was in the past. The shops were cute, artsy and reasonably priced. The whole tour felt rushed though. Even though the advertisement indicates 10 hours, we were back at the hotel in 8. The advertised tour does not mention a minimum participant number, but as they only had our 2 person party, they informed us the night before the tour that we could cancel or pay an extra $100. As we had nothing planned and it was too late to get something else, we chose for the extra ‘cash’ payment. Our guide, Tom, spoke English exceptionally well, was very interesting and had tons of things to explain. We learned a lot! He made us feel rushed though. The lunch was very good (and way too much…) in a very authentic restaurant. We would maybe have preferred to eat in the water town, but no complaints at all.
