These guys had to be one of the biggest influences on the Ramones, then along with the Ramones for the Sex Pistols.

The New York Dolls influenced everything in music. They were decades ahead of their time.

You are giving The Stooges short shift. They influenced NYDs and had an even harder edge. The Dolls were almost contemporary with the Ramones.

This. The Dolls’ influence is just staggering. And not just on punk, obviously. Everyone from the clash, Pistols, Generation X (Billy Idol), Damned, Ramones, Blondie, to Poison, Motley Crue, Hanoi Rocks, Guns N Roses and beyond.

RIP JT, Jerry, Arthur, Billy, and Syl.

Yup, Ramones and Dolls are great... I don't have anything good to say about the Pistols, though.

The name is pretty cool, and the merch is iconic.

If their music was any good, they'd be an awesome band.

You’re mistaken. Never Mind the Bollocks slaps.

Love this. Johnny Thunders version of "Chinese Rocks" is an all timer for me

I don’t hear The Heartbreakers get brought up enough.

LAMF is a punk masterwork

Absolutely.

Rolls’ drummer Jerry Nolan and Peter Criss were childhood friends. In the early to mid 1970s they were roommates and shared a drum kit.

This song and Trash were on a dubbed cassette I found on the street in 1993. Took me about 5 years to find out who they were. I was hooked on proto-punk and glam after that.
