The Smiths – Best ...I

Solid compilation tends toward the acoustic and the art of the song and it sounds good.

At 45 minutes this is just half a CD, that fans have to pay full price for. Best I & II should have been put on one CD, so fans didn't have to shell out twice.

I was fortunate to find this at my favorite record store, and am very pleased with this recording. The vinyl is dead quiet, and the mixing is superb. The bass and drums are punchy, and there's zero sibilance on Morrissey's vocals. If you find it, buy it.

I don't see the difference between this one and https://www.discogs.com/The-Smiths-Best-I/release/464973. The only difference I see is in the pictures where it appears to be a longbox version but doesn't it usually say longbox in the Format ? This one (https://www.discogs.com/The-Smiths-Best-I/release/6368404 ) has no pictures so do we know for sure there was a longbox version and a non longbox version that have the same info in the matrix runout ?

I ask these things because I have the same CD , I bought it used and the lack of info on these releases has me scratching my head on what version I have. To further complicate things my barcode is the same , Matrix Runout is the same 1 45042-2 SRC#01 but also has ARC * M1 S6 (the asterisk is as large as the letters). and none of these versions lists anything with ARC . Am I missing something ? I really wish sometimes that finding what you truly have wasn't such a pain in the arse since I am always writing these things and clicking notify me but i have never been notified about any of my comments. I realize that Discogs is the only place online that makes an attempt to list as many different versions of our music as they can and that's really an impossible task judging by the amount of trouble I have figuring out what I have. I also know discogs has thousands of submissions pending. However I do wish that submissions were not allowed that do not complete a checklist of things such as pictures must be included or if the picture looks like a longbox then put longbox in the format.
