To the Lighthouse is a novel written by Virginia Woolf and originally published in 1927.

The novel begins with the Ramsay family's almost anecdotal decision to visit the lighthouse during a series of stays on the Isle of Skye (Scotland) between 1910 and 1920. From this simple plot, a profound novel emerges with a great development of the characters and the relationships between them.

The story is seen through the narration of Mrs. Ramsay, who is married and has 8 children. Everything that happens in this book revolves around her as well as the thoughts and experiences of the characters are about the protagonist.

The novel deals with themes such as loneliness, loss, the role of women and family and romantic relationships.

It is included in the Modern Library's selection of the best novels in the English language.
