A minty green pill -- medication or sugar?
Louis is working on a placebo-controlled study of a new female arousal drug. As her work in the lab navigates the blurry lines between perception and deception, more and more these same questions pertain to her life at home. With uncanny insight and unparalleled wit, Melisa James Gibson's affectionate comedy examines slippery truths and the power of crossed fingers.

While the story of this play is interesting in its own light, what captivated me most was the exceptional utilization of form. Gibson is a master at playing with style and she uses that unexpected structure to really dig into the meaning behind these words. The split sentences and random capitals really gives the reader a strong sense of the conversations happening between the lines.
Also, I’m a sucker for good use of stage directions, and this play is absolutely exceptional at it.
