OMG! They have actual celebrities this year! There’s half a dozen you don’t need to read an explanation to understand who they are. Jason Mraz? Allison Hannigan? Matt Walsh? Tyson Beckford? Mira Sorvino? Jamie Lynn Spears? These are actual people I know and I’m even shocked Hannigan, Walsh and Mraz would.
They see it as a challenge or personal growth, probably, and they do get paid.
Love that they are taking part!
The money they’re earning is probably really good and plus some of them are probably promoting new projects….
Some are probably doing it as a challenge to themselves or doing it because a loved one is a fan of the show….
Whatever the reason ,
it seems like it’ll be a great season…..
It would be great if more soap opera actors would compete on the show….
Anyway,,,
best of 🤞🤞 luck
to all of the contestants…
With the ongoing strike, they CANNOT promote any projects.
It makes me very happy that Dancing with the Stars appears to be returning to its roots and resisting featuring dancers and gymnasts and, instead, including people who are stars in other fields and are teachable. Looking forward to the new season! RIP Len Goodman! your honest classy judging will be missed.
Not a bad cast. Hard to see any obvious frontrunner at this point – which is good. Would still love to see an entire cast without the words “reality TV personality”.
But having only 4 is a step in the right direction.
They shouldn’t have reality personalities or social media
personalities but maybe they put them on the show to draw in their fans for higher ratings.
I’m guessing the Actor Strike actually ended up working in their favor to get some actual “Stars” since they weren’t working on other projects due to the strike, and this was the loophole to still get them a check.
It’s actually a pretty good cast this year, I just might tune in.
Nice to see the mature male dancers. Barry Williamss wow. Love Alyson Hannigan. Her Buffy years. Mira is nice too.
Alyson Hannigan was the main “Buffy” cast member who didn’t want to sing and dance in the famous musical episode. Let’s hope she’s gotten over her nervousness.
“I think this line’s mostly filler” <3
This is cast is filled with surprises from the usual level of celebrities you see on here. I wonder if it’s strike related or if DWTS is offering more to entice more people.
Seems like a good upcoming season. Super excited about Julianne and Ribeiro as hosts..a good tandem for sure.
Looking forward to it being back on ABC even though I could stream it on Disney.
The catchment area will be much greater as not everyone can afford the streaming channels.
I’m a little surprised about Xochitl Gomez. When the most recent Dr. Strange movie came out, critics praised her performance and predicted that she was going to be the next young movie star. This seems like a step in the wrong direction.
When you are a newcomer, Marvel pay is low. Tom Holland got $ 300,000 to be Spiderman, a huge leading character, in Homecoming. She probably got even less, her film was shot a couple of years ago and there is a strike. She might just literally need to make enough to pay rent and live.
Maybe she just thinks this will be fun, and with all the strikes, she probably has time. I would like to think that if I was famous I would do something like this just for the fun.
This seems like a play out of Zendaya’s playbook to get more notoriety. Remember, not many people knew who she was until she went on this show. It is actually a good move for this actress
Excellent point about Zendaya! She had done Disney shows before DWTS, but I had not heard of her. Then she did DWTS, did quite well, and went on to Euphoria and other projects and became very famous!
My kids also know her from the Netflix version of The Babysitters Club. So they’ll get a kick out of this. I think her future prospects will be fine
A co star in a Disney/Marvel movie being promoted on a Disney owned channel to be even more well known isn’t a bad thing.
so these are the people who I am rooting for
Barry Williams
Jason Mraz
Matt Walsh
I’m rooting for Mira Sorvino, Barry Williams, Jason Mraz,
Jamie Lynn Spears and Xochitl Gomez….
Although, as the season goes on , I’ll probably change my mind.
💞🩷💞 Mira Sorvino, Alyson Hannigan and Xochitl Gomez! A much better roster than usual (with the exception of Spears).
I’m rooting for Adrian, Charity, and Jason. Let’s go!
Haven’t watched this show in ages but there’s no way I can miss Tyson Beckford, Matt Walsh and Barry Williams!!! Hope you guys have that 2-step down…haha!! Can’t wait!!
i can’t belive that berry williams is going to be on dancing with the stars it shocked me. that is great good luck to him. he is a good dancer too.
Wonder if Jamie Lynn will talk about what a wonderful sister she has been? What a joke. Hope she is first to go.
If Tonya Harding can make it to the finals during her season, Jamie Lynn Spears can prove the haters wrong too. Plus with Britney proving herself on a daily basis to be increasingly nuts, Jamie Lynn can only look like the sane one in comparison. Plus Jamie Lynn raises her own kids, something her big sis is incapable of doing.
Writers strike brings B and C listers needing college tuition for the kids.
You do know that’s what they’ve had since season 1 and the masked singer has had more stars then dancing with the stars
I maybe screamed a little when my mom called and told me about Aly Hannigan. So excited, i hope she does well!!! The whole cast looks pretty great overall too.
I think it’ll be a great season! I’m so glad this show is still on the air! It brings joy to people which most shows don’t do. Love the judges, but I’ll miss Len. And love the pros, but I am surprised they didn’t bring Sharna back. She’ll be missed! It’s a fun show & the pro dancers are excellent!! Looking forward to it!!
I am so excited and happy that Dancing with the Stars is back on ABC and that the former female host quit and we don’t have to listen to her nasty remarks.
Well played once again. There’s always at least one person to pull me in. This time we’ve got two, Barry Williams and Alyson Hannigan.
This should be a fun season.
Tyson acted awful. #1 he can’t dance, had no rhythm and kept getting in all the frames when Julianne was trying to interview the other contestants. Felt bad for Jenna. She kept trying to pull him away. I think they finally removed him. What a jerk!
I love this show, no matter who is on it.
I wish they would go back to eliminations the following week, so that West Coast viewers could vote too.
I miss wonderful Len Goodman, may he rest in peace, but Derek is a great judge.
