Andrew Pulver Guardian Lennox's film is carefully constructed, ballasted by sterling performances from his two leads - neither of whom you would call attractive or empathetic. Rated: 3/5 Jun 22, 2016 Full Review Scott Tobias Variety There's a good movie here about the peculiar bond between men of different social strata, but Lennox and his screenwriters, John Cairns and Michael McCartney, never quite locate it. Sep 29, 2015 Full Review Nathanael Hood Audiences Everywhere The film is infuriating in its predictability, right down to its poetic but preposterous climax. Rated: C+ Dec 27, 2018 Full Review Sean Mulvihill FanboyNation.com There's nothing really new in A Patch of Fog, just a sharp little thriller that escalates well before its devious conclusion. Rated: 3/5 Nov 1, 2018 Full Review Christopher Llewellyn Reed Hammer to Nail A Patch of Fog mostly works as a taut atmospheric thriller that manages to hold some real surprises for the end, thanks to solid mise-en-scne and excellent performances. Feb 25, 2018 Full Review Elias Savada Film International The director offers up a steady build of tension aided by mostly nocturnal activity and guided by director of photography Matthias Pilz's hand-held work. Conor F A good film with some good twists. Keeps you locked in from start to finish and some great acting! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/31/23 Full Review r 9 Not a good'un. 'A Patch of Fog' isn't bad per se, I just can't really tell you anything that I particularly enjoyed about it. Sure I like Stephen Graham and Conleth Hill, though I've seen better from both. The plot does have a few moments of goodness with solid twists and a neat end, though those are few and far between as they are surrounded by much mediocre-ness. Graham and Hill do make sure it remains mildly watchable, though everything else kinda hinders more than it helps the film. Despite a 90 minute run time, it makes for a slow watch - not helped by the fact that the filmmakers let the cat out the bag, so to speak, very early on, a bit more suspense/subtlety would've went a long way. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Brilliant! Cracking performances. A great story Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member I was scared of the terror in ordinary day. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member It was pretty decent, definitely kept you on your toes, however I did not like the ending at all. It kind of ruined it for more. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member This was a very pleasant sleeper film with great psychological twists and a totally unexpected ending. I really enjoyed it. A hidden treasure. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Read all reviews
