About Golden Village Pictures

Established in 1993, Golden Village Pictures (GVP) is Singapore’s leading independent film distributor, releasing a wide range of blockbusters from Hollywood’s JOHN WICK series to Asian mega-hits like Giddens Ko’s TILL WE MEET AGAIN; Director Yeon Sang-Ho’s TRAIN TO BUSAN, PENINSULA; Jackie Chan’s CZ12, KUNGFU YOGA, and Andy Lau’s SHOCK WAVE series. GVP promotes arthouse gems such as Director Park Chan Wook’s DECISION TO LEAVE; as well as SHOPLIFTERS and PARASITE, winners of the Palme d’Or award at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in 2018 and 2019 respectively.

GVP’s distribution portfolio also includes well-known anime titles such as JUJUTSU KAISEN: ZERO, Mamoru Hosoda’s BELLE, and Makoto Shinkai’s YOUR NAME. As a recognised distributor for home-grown films, GVP has worked with many notable local directors including Jack Neo (AH BOYS TO MEN series, etc), Eric Khoo (RAMEN TEH), Royston Tan (3688, 881), Anthony Chen (ILO ILO, WET SEASON), Boo Junfeng (APPRENTICE) and He Shuming (AJOOMMA).

Launched in 2018, GV CARES is a new initiative from Golden Village, designed to make a positive impact on the communities in which GV operates in Singapore.

With a focus on underprivileged children, low income families, elderly and film schools, GV CARES enables individuals to apply on behalf of such organisations to enjoy a free screening at selected GV cinemas.

Successful applicants will be able to use the free screening to conduct fund-raising initiatives; a screening for beneficiaries; or an educational screening for film students.
