      Critics Consensus

Open Season is a cliched palette of tired jokes and CG animal shenanigans that have been seen multiple times this cinematic year.

Ryland C Wait…… This is Sony animations very first movie? Okay. It’s not bad but honestly it could‘ve been better. Here’s the stuff I liked: the backgrounds are beautifully gorgeous, the animation is actually pretty good, I really enjoyed the relationship between the Martin Lawrence bear and his human mother, the villain was enjoyable, and finally the voice acting was solid. Here’s the stuff I didn’t like: the movies writing is basically just Shrek and Ice Age again, the pacing sucks, the slapstick gets on my nerves, and the god damn Ashton Cutcher dear is so annoying. Overall it’s not a perfect start to the studio. It’s a 5/10. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 05/20/24 Full Review Aidan B Fairly underrated: while "Open Season" is far from the best animated movie, it is still an overall enjoyable watch. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/03/24 Full Review EwanDoggie B Honestly, this movie is underrated. It's a really great movie, but not other people think the same. Please watch the movie now. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/05/24 Full Review Tyler This movie is so bad I hate this, showed puke, dumb jokes, and off animation. I don't recommend this, I would rate this a 0% Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/02/24 Full Review Read all reviews
