What travelers are saying
- Ogi0Sofia, Bulgaria22,197 contributionsThe park is huge and at the same time very peaceful. There are many interesting places to see, the most interesting being the beer garden, which looks like a Chinese pagoda.Written May 7, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Scenic Beauty and Views
One of the most striking features of Zugspitze is the breathtaking 360-degree view from its summit. On clear days, visitors can see over 400 peaks spanning four countries: Germany, Austria, Italy, and Switzerland. The Zugspitze Glacier (Gletscher) area is another highlight, offering a dramatic and pristine landscape that captivates nature enthusiasts and photographersWritten May 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We highly recommend it for anyone visiting Southern Bavaria, Salzburg, or Berchtesgaden, especially if you love landscape photography. You will not be disappointed. The line to buy boat tickets was a little long as they only had one ticket window open, but it was worth the wait.Written February 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The most shocking and distinctive note was visitors walking dogs around the zoo. Some of the animals were NOT having it, or maybe they were jealous?!?Written December 31, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Elizabeth L13 contributionsThe four mile hike around the lake was so beautiful! I especially enjoyed the green and blue colors of the water with the mountains in the background! We rented a rowboat for 13 euros for one hour, note one hour is the maximum time for boat rental and you’re not allowed to land on the islands. I recall canoes rented for $100+ an hour at Lake Louise in Banff so was pleased the hourly rental was a bargain here. It was quite crowded with people on Saturday but pleasantly sparse on Monday.Written May 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tom MHobart, IN68 contributionsI had been looking forward to this visit for almost two years, and it did not disappoint. Not nearly as crowded as the Partnachklamm, this is an amazing hike through a beautiful gorge.Written October 17, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DipuKVPune, India2,904 contributionsA massive square, it sheer scale hits you as you come across this place. - Andra F2 contributionsThere are a lot of flowers and trees species. I went in September so there were only autumn flowers.
There is an area with apline flowers and plants which was interesting.
I also liked the greenhouses with the jungle plants and cactuses.
There was an area with vegetables which can be fun for kids that grew in cities and did not have the opportunity to see how vegetables that they eat grow.
I recomend wearing sport shoes because most areas have gravel on the ground and it can be a little bit muddy in some places from the watering of the plants.Written September 20, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Traveler CSingapore, Singapore355 contributionsLocated in the beautiful countryside of Upper Bavaria. The area offered a gorgeous setting, where it was tranquil and peaceful. You can just sit back and enjoy the scenery by embarking on a ferry ride during the Summer.Written April 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SamDakinBromsgrove, UK109 contributionsWhat a relaxing day away from the hustle and bustle of Munich. The train was so easy from central Munich to Starnberg. Upon exiting the train the boat is literally just 2 mins away and easy to find. There’s a ticket office but be careful to be ready to board the boat on time, we missed ours as we were expecting a bigger boat. Anyway we got some lunch and boarded the next one! We stayed on the boat to Tutzing, took about an hour, there was a cafe on the boat. At Tutzing we swam in the lake, relaxed and walked to a nearby restaurant. We spent about 3 hours there, a bit too long but that was when the next boat was. When we disembarked we got some dinner at a restaurant along the lake edge, great views.Written July 10, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GraeWestgateBournemouth, UK31 contributionsGenuinely one of the best zoos I’ve ever visited; a huge variety of animals, many of which I’ve rarely seen in zoos before, each in large and comfortable exhibits. The manatee house is simply outstanding. Do be sure to wear comfortable shoes though; I managed nearly 20000 steps traversing the whole park!Written February 14, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TomMaple Grove, MN2,034 contributionsGreat views of the Watzmann mountains. This place is a treasure in southern Germany. Lots of outdoors beauty and activity for people of all ages. Didn't bring my hiking boots on this trip, but sure wish I did.Written July 17, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Travel with SeanMadison, WI23 contributionsThe cable car tends to be packed going up, but is worth the trip. Mount Tegelberg has beautiful views of the surrounding area for miles. While you're up there, you can go hiking, play games, have a picnic, stop at the cafe for coffee and a snack, or just sit in one of their chairs and enjoy the sunshine. On the day we went, the views of Neuschwanstein Castle were poor and scant; so, I'd not recommend it as a means to see the castle.Written May 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
