Beach Shack is the best thing to happen to my neighbourhood. Great vibes, amazing food, cool customers including one who sets up and plays some great chilled tunes. Love this place.

I normally do not write reviews, but upon my reflections of the customer service I experienced yesterday at Beach Shack Elwood, I am compelled to give this feedback.
My partner gave some feedback on your Instagram last Thursday Jan 11th of a particular concern after purchasing a coffee at Beach Shack that day. Due to the no response, yesterday we decided to visit (Saturday 13th) and speak to someone in person, to merely pass on her experience/concern, and to endeavour to give you the opportunity to reflect on the service you provided.
So just after 8am yesterday we visited in person. It was a quiet time of the morning with not many patrons to cater for. I was very dissatisfied with the way we were initially greeted as I felt there was no genuine welcome and attention for us. I observed that other patrons were greeted with warmth and some energy, whereas the greeting we receive felt like we were just a number.
When my partner started to explain her feedback, I found the barista’s inattentive reply to be defensive. The barista did not actively listen to my partner, and I believe he showed no interest in her concern. Though he did say sorry, it was in an acrimonious manner. To his credit he did begin to show some openness to my partners regard as she tried to convey her dissatisfaction.
But moreover, what I found most appalling as I stood there in disbelief, the Owner piped up in the background saying to us, “there is a café down the road”. The Owner did not take the time to assess that he had some dissatisfied customers in front of him and decided to leave it all for the barista to manage and address. The Owner ignored us and left me with a very poor impression of his customer service. He did not acknowledge us, he was not professional and courteous, he did not thank us for the feedback and did not offer to make things right. Implying for us to make our way to the café down the road, I feel is simply ungracious and very rude.
Despite being let down yesterday, I have taken the time today on my Sunday to write this review for Beach Shack Elwood to inform you that there is always an opportunity to turn an unhappy customer into a satisfied one by taking this feedback on board.
By taking an approach of demonstrating some acknowledgement, understanding, empathy and kindness to ALL of your customers, will show to your customers that your business is welcoming and committed to providing excellent service, and that you are willing to resolve any issues they may have.

Elwood Beach is - unsurprisingly - at Elwood, a suburb just south of St Kilda in Victoria. The beach itself is a pleasant enough place - nothing here for surfers of course. But the main attraction is that it's part of the scenery as you stroll along the pedestrian path (or cycle along the cycleway) along the coast. You'll get to take in the Point Ormond Lookout as well as the beach, stop for a break at the Point Ormond Cafe or somewhere similar and it's a lovely way to spend some time on a summers day.
Facilities are plentiful here and some eateries are around.

Elwood is a bay beach, so it is rarely rough. It's a good family vacation beach, there's lots of space to have fun. It's not as fashionable as Brighton Beach, but it's popular with family groups. By the way, it's regarded as being one of the best beaches on Port Phillip Bay.

Elwood is a bay beach, so it is normally calm. It's good for families; kids can have fun in the beach, especially when it's warm. It's not upper-crust like Brighton Beach, but it's a good place to have fun on Port Phillip Bay.

Was here last Wednesday morning and since it's still the school holidays, parents brought their kids to enjoy this lovely beach. It's easy to spend 2 or 3 hours here.

Long expanse of beach, but no surf, grainy sand. Fun place on warm days for families. Cold in the water!

Elwood is a pleasant little beach, but seems less popular than the Brighton and St Kilda choices. That could mean that you are less likely to feel crowded here. It is close to the Elwood Canal, so avoid after rain.

This time , the approach to Elwood Beach was from Brighton and there is a pleasant walk along the coast with Port Phillip Bay to one side and the the rich and famous and their lavish large houses to the right that have a waterfront position. Good views, a good stretch of sand but that is about it.

Elwood is a good beach with clean yellow sand and not too different to most beaches along this section of coast.To the north is Point Ormond and to the south the Brighton area.Pleasant place to walk and avoid the cyclists.
