Here’s a quick guide to the movie and TV show roles of Iwan Rheon. Welsh actor Iwan Rheon is best known as Ramsay Bolton on Game Of Thrones. The psychopathic Ramsay certainly made an impact during Rheon’s four-season tenure on the show and was often hailed as one of Game Of Thrones’ best villains before he finally met a gruesome - but befitting - ending in season 6.

Game Of Thrones might’ve introduced Iwan Rheon to a wider audience but it was by no means his first gig. His first ever TV role came playing Macsen White on long-running Welsh language soap opera Pobol Y Cwm before the actor departed for London to hone his acting skills at drama school. He followed that up with a seven-episode stint playing a character named Daniel in the first season of another Welsh TV show, Caerdydd.

The role that put Iwan Rheon on the map came with cult British sci-fi series Misfits, where he played Simon Bellamy – one of several young offenders sentenced to community service who gain superhero powers during a freak electrical storm. While starring on Misfits, Rheon had a number of small roles on other British shows including sitcom Grandma’s House and drama Secret Diary Of A Call Girl.

His Game Of Thrones' role also gave Rheon the freedom to take parts on several other shows. He starred alongside Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi in ITV sitcom Vicious, playing their characters’ neighbor and pseudo-surrogate son Ash, and Rheon also played soldier Dylan "Smurf" Smith in the first season of BBC military drama Our Girl. He went on to appear as government spokesperson Jonas Flack in the British supernatural miniseries Residue in 2015.

After his time as Ramsay on Game Of Thrones came to an end, Rheon played another morally bankrupt character – this time a young Adolf Hitler – on satirical British comedy-drama Urban Myths. In 2017 he played Adam Clios, the son of Anthony LaPaglia’s billionaire character, on Sky Atlantic drama Riviera and portrayed supervillain Maximus on ABC’s short-lived MCU series Inhumans. Soon, he’s set to play happy-go-lucky leprechaun Liam Doyle in the third season of Starz’ fantasy drama American Gods.

While Iwan Rheon’s film career hasn’t been quite as high profile as his TV career, he’s had a steady flow of movie roles over the past decade. He’s had parts in British crime films including Wild Bill and Wasteland and starred alongside fellow Welsh actor Michael Sheen in the adaptation of Owen Sheers’ novel Resistance. His other credits include horror movie Mermaid’s Song, sci-fi Alien Invasion: S.U.M.1. and he played two real-life figures – Daniel O’Leary and Jan Zumbach – in historical dramas The Liberator and Mission Of Honor. More recently, he appeared in anthology drama Berlin, I Love You – the latest installment in the Cities Of Love series – and played Mötley Crüe guitarist Mick Mars in Netflix’s biographical comedy-drama The Dirt.
