I had a guy join my world and it was fun for a while but he kept pestering me to fight bosses I wasn’t fighting(I was doing cc before fw bc I was playing wigfrid) and then he proceeded to take and eat a mandrake and then 10 days later he ate the last mandrake in the world making it into soup as wortox literally wasting half of the biggest waste in the game. Then he took the bone helm from the fuel weaver kill too if it’s not your world or an open world then DON’T TOUCH THE THINGS THAT ARE HARD TO GET I didn’t think it was that complicated but some people really struggle with that for some reason.

See I wanna play with people but I’m too intimidated and don’t want stuff like this happening.
There's a drop everything upon disconnect setting but it's an awful setting imo and I refuse to play servers with it. DC insane? Good luck rejoining naked. Yer food spoils, lanterns run out of fuel, resources get taken by birds and moles. Imagine being a goose as woodie and you DC. First off, you can't loot anything in were forms so yer idol is wasted or you have to make another trip to retrieve yer stuff. If on the ocean say goodbye to lots of things including minerals and bundles that aren't in your backpack. DC in the void? It's all gone, everything in yer inventory. Don't make everyone suffer for a potential griefer. Worst setting in the game if you ask me aside from not having the caves enabled. Caves are required for most progression in the game.
Learn console commands(rip if not on PC) and ban the bad actors. Console is the best greifer protection as you can replace any item in the game.

This is just about everything you'll need. You'll also need the DST wiki to look up the console names of each item.
For example
c_spawn("amulet")
This will drop a life giving amulet on your cursor location.
c_give("rocks",40)
This will add a stack of rocks to yer inventory.
c_rollback()
Pretty obvious.
c_rolback(2)
This will go back 2 days. You can go up to 5 by default depending on how many auto save slots you utilize.
With great power comes great responsibility. Be careful or you can ruin your experience by spawning in boss loot n what not.

I forgot to mention the mod Drop Before Ban. Honestly it should be in the game by default.
For a game called together Klei sure doesn't make it easy for public games. I refuse to play pub worlds with no host or at least active moderators. Playing with your mates is great but finding new friends in this game (which I would think should be a priority in order to grow the player base) is an arduous task at times with people having different play styles, lack of game/settings/mod knowledge and a general lack of consideration for others, their time and efforts.
You can also play with winters feast on pan flutes are one of the presents for a decorated tree.
This stuff is why I don't play online
I will say I’ve got over 600 hours in this game and this is really my first idiot that’s been this bad like eating mandrakes and stuff so it isn’t all bad I’ve had some good randoms I was partially just venting on here
I had 2 people eat my mandrake. Went ahead and just made them into panflutes before anyone else could.
Too many items mod definitely fixes any griefs caused by other players, by spawning items or distinguishing fires, to more stable rollbacks
Oh my god I have this same problem! I go out and dig up berry bushes to plant at the base and I come back to find that the other 3 idiots on the server used the bushes and fuel for the campfire 😭

In console literally every random thinks they can take anything from the base they want.
Like; I have to put up signs, add a warning to the name and description, and say it so people understand the fact that YOU NEED TO ASK BEFORE YOU TAKE. And that STUFF ON THE FLOOR ISN'T FREE.
I'm sick & tired of this behavior. Some YouTuber needs to make an etiquette video like James bucket except updated.
