Ruturaj Gaikwad further enriched his growing legacy at Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by playing a vital role in the franchise winning their record-equaling fifth Indian Premier League (IPL) title. Gaikwad was CSK's second-highest run-scorer in the 2023 season behind Devon Conway with a tally of 590 runs.
This is the second time in three years that Gaikwad has been crucial to CSK's success, having earlier played a key role in helping the franchise lift the crown in 2021. Gaikwad had won the orange cap during CSK's fourth title win in 2021 by scoring 635 runs in the season.
CSK's title win was probably the perfect pre-wedding gift for the opening batter, as he is set to tie the knot next week. Gaikwad's fiancée, Utkarsha Pawar, was in attendance at the IPL final in Ahmedabad. A post by Gaikwad, with Utkrasha and MS Dhoni by his side, took social media by storm.

Who is Utkarsha Pawar?

Talk about a match made in heaven! Utkarsha is also a cricketer, who has played for Maharashtra. The Pune-based cricketer is an all-rounder who is a right-handed batter and also a pace bowler. Her last appearance for her state was more than 18 months ago on November 15, 2021, against Punjab in a Senior Women's ODI Trophy match.
The 24-year-old was born on October 13, 1998. Some media reports have stated that she is studying at the Institute of Nutrition and Fitness Sciences (INFS) in Pune. The couple is set to get married on June 3.

Yashasvi Jaiswal takes Gaikwad's place in the Indian team.

While Gaikwad is yet to play a Test match for India, he was named among the three reserve players alongside Mukesh Kumar and Suryakumar Yadav in India's World Test Championship (WTC) final squad. However, Gaikwad had to pull out of the tournament because of his marriage. Rajasthan Royals (RR) star Yashasvi Jaiswal has taken his place in the team as India prepares to face Australia on June 7 at London's iconic Oval Stadium.
