- However, it might still be a good degree if you are looking for job opportunities in the US.
- BU has a university-wide career fair where students can secure an attractive average package of $100,000.
- I received the university graduate scholarship, and the only requirement for consideration was an early application deadline.
- All the infrastructure you can think of is available on campus - library, Wi-Fi, sports, gym, etc.
- Living near places like Beacon St, Fenway, Kenmore, and Charlestown can be quite costly. However, if you venture closer to Brighton, St. Stephan Street, or Allston, you can find good and slightly cheaper places.
- There are roughly 50-60 students in each class, and the professors are really good at what they do and super approachable.
- BU, as it had the best research labs and faculties in my field in the USA.

Yes, I had to submit letters of recommendation for my graduate program from professors at my undergraduate program. I chose Boston University because it is a prestigious graduate school and has great research and a great BME program. I wanted to live in Boston because I have lots of friends there, I like the city, and it's close to my family. It is also a great area for getting a job in biotech after I graduate. My experience as a graduate student at BU has been pretty good. It can be tough to start a master's degree without a lot of knowledge what it will be like, but my advisor is helpful and I have taken a lot of interesting classes.
Fees:
I pay around $15,000 per semester and I am doing 3 semesters of graduate school.
Likes
- I really liked the city as it is safe and one of the biggest hubs in US. And the university was very well ranked especially for my program.
Overall I am having a great experience so far and one more thing I’d like to highlight is Boston University has a lot of opportunities for on-campus jobs so you can make some money to pay your rent and have some fun as well.
Fees:
It’s roughly $70,000.
Likes
- Course and curriculum is updated and the professors are very helpful. Most professors are part time and work in organizations during the day so some professors also refer you to their organizations. Also, we are close to MIT and Harvard and are allowed to attend their events which is a plus.
- I got 4 admits and out of those, BU’s curriculum was the best. Also, it was the highest reputed University out of my admits. My other admits were from UIC, SJSU, Santa Clara University and IIT Chicago.
Dislikes
- Campus is in the city. It has its pros as well like transportation is easy and there are a lot of off campus housing nearby. The only thing I dislike about the the university is that its very expensive. And as a city, Boston is expensive so off campus housing is also very expensive.
It was a really good and different experience. At first I thought it was very stressful but then you start liking the life here. It is definitely an experience that everyone should have once in their lifetime.
Fees:
The full course duration is 2 years (4 semesters excluding summer semester) but can be finished in 1.5 years (4 semesters including summer semester). The 2 year one would cost around 95k and the 1.5 year one would cost around 65k-70k.
It has the best program for project management in the country.
Fees:
Tuition varies but mine is $30,000 per semester.
High ranking for selected fields, scholarship, and ideal location (diverse and urban environment).
BU is one of the top private university, and it offers a Computer science program in 2 colleges: The art and science department and Metropolitan College. The graduate art and science department offer a less flexible programme, whereas the metropolitan college provides a more flexible programme(i.e. classes are in the evening). Student can choose either while applying. Data Science Faculty is quite good, and most of the professor had working professional experience in the past.
Fees:
57666
I applied to 7 colleges and of those, I was accepted to 5. Waitlisted at one and guaranteed transfer to another. So I went to Ithaca College for a year and then did guarantee transfer to BU. I didn't plan on transferring to BU but I hated Ithaca so much that I couldn't stand to be there for three more years. Transferring to BU was the best decision I made.
Fees:
Just tuition for BU is around 25k per semester. That's excluding housing, meal plan, etc. I would guess that suite-style housing with a standard meal plan is around 9k per semester. I didn't get any scholarship money. Scholarships at BU are merit-based. Those who need the money do get full rides.
Scholarship, longer program and RA opportunities were most crucial
Fees:
Roughly $85,000
