Worth the uphill walk to reach this impressive landmark.
An unfriendly welcome as we paid to enter and no information offered, so we made our way directly to the bell tower.
238 steps, narrowing towards the top means this climb is not for the faint hearted, but the views from the top are spectacular.

Found this small castle by accident, just walking up a hill to see what was there. For under 3 euro you can tour the house and battlements, and watch a short video in multiple languages about the Templar Knights.

The staff are very friendly and accommodating, and it was not crowded on the Sunday afternoon I was there. Don’t wear flip flops - the ground is covered in thistles that stuck to my sneakers, and I am now crunching my way across Lleida to my next stop 😂

Good collection of cars & motorcycles/scooters. Huge collection of models. A shame explanations only in Spanish/Catalan. Bonus that it’s free but there should be a “donation box”!

Well, we really enjoyed our visit although we did not go inside. We had decided to visit Lleida on our way home from the coast but after I had made the booking, I was unsure that there would be much activity in the city on a Sunday. It was a lovely day, the last Sunday in October and we decided to go up to the church. From the square there are steps, but also a lift and an escalator that can be taken half way up and then there is another lift which goes almost all the way to the top. The views were stunning and we found that there was a fiesta in progress. There was a classic car rally, a group of drummers, line dancing, people dressed up in old uniforms, archery, stalls selling local produce etc. It was great. We had our dog with us so could coy go inside so we will leave that for another visit. I had read reviews saying that it was a crumbling edifice, but we found it interesting and beautiful. There is a nice cafe near the top with views over the river and the prices are less that you would expect. Well worth the visit and I hope to come back again.

Gerri de la Sal has a natural salt spring which has been collected and dried out to provide salt for a large part of Northern Spain from the time of the Norman Conquest of Britain in 1066. Great kingdoms have risen and been deposed by virtue of the salt and its remote mountain location.
The apparently small museum has been cleverly divided to provide a much bigger experience than might have been expected.
The Tourist information office provided plenty of brochures detailing local castles and other interesting features worth visiting.
Well worth spending some time there.

Again a building with history, worthwhile for short visit. The vault is interesting with its prison cell with graffiti.

Unfortunately I went for an evening with my 10yo son, we were not warned to dress warmly, it was quite cold when the roof was opened. We were also not informed that this supposed, International tourist attraction would be a 2+ hour session, all in Catalan, which is a language only understood by locals. DO NOT bother to book the full sessions if you are not fluent with the Catalan language, no other languages were offered, so this is not for anyone other than locals. Very disappointed.

It is a very impressive station a fine façade and some modern walkways in side; good communications in side the building with some spacious buffet areas. It was only the toilets that let it down-a common problem in transit areas.

We ended up in Lleida because Barcelona was very crowded.
What a gem in the Roser convent Parador, we found the restoration to be top notch! We stayed two nights, bought the breakfast buffet I highly recommend doing that, you will be able to sample their cuisine this way. The Roser is situated on the Main Street lots of shops very good location you can walk to Seú Vella in 5 minutes. We also walked to the train station with our luggage. Lleida is a small city nice for a weekend.

Castle of Mur is one of the castles located in the Middle Ages border between Christian and Muslim Empires, in Lleida region, in Catalonia. The Castle of Mur is the most known and very well preserved building in the region, which you can visit in a guided visit. You can enter in the tower and some rooms and you can walk on the top of walls. In fact, from here you can see very beautiful views of surroundings. Really a very nice visit. Also, in the inner part of the complex, you also see the Church of Santa Maria del Mur, a wonderful building.
Also, if you want to see other castles in the region, tou can go to the Castles of Llordà (you do a dramatized visit), Guàrdia (you can walk from Castle of Mur, about 45minutes by walk and there you can see only the tower and the best views of surroundings) and Orcau (a vastle in ruins with a very beautiful views of surroundings). We did this 4 visits in one day, very recommendable.

Lleida (previously in Spanish Lérida) is a regional capital and many treasures from the area are exhibited in this rather big museum. The collections ranges from early geology to modern art. Despite the museum is new, unfortunately all descriptions are only in Catalan language. However you are provided with an English translation leaflet, that helps a little. We saw no other tourists despite several interesting sights in the town e.g. the fortress-church complex.
