In appreciation of their generous support of the Newberry, Newberry Associates at the Humanists level and above, President's Fellows, and other select Newberry supporters are invited to the exhibition opening of A Night at Mister Kelly's.
One of the hotspots of Chicago nightlife from the 1950s through the 1970s, Mister Kelly's was known for its top-shelf jazz and comedy talents, a venue to see rising stars who would later gain international fame. This exhibition draws on the Mister Kelly's Collection at the Newberry to re-create the excitement of a night at Mister Kelly’s.
A Night at Mister Kelly’s is supported by the Rosaline G. Cohn Endowment for Exhibitions. The Newberry also thanks David Marienthal for his gift of the Mister Kelly’s Collection.
