Kerry Lengel Arizona Republic Tedious and utterly lacking in dramatic tension. Rated: 2/5 Apr 13, 2006 Full Review Eleanor Ringel Cater Atlanta Journal-Constitution You might buy it if the film convinced you this was a love story for the ages, that Sara and Mark are so made for each other it would be a crime against heaven if they weren't together. But it doesn't. Rated: F Mar 9, 2006 Full Review Tom Long Detroit News The sheer convenience of the situations and characters involved ultimately undermines its impact. Rated: C Jan 20, 2006 Full Review Philip Martin Arkansas Democrat-Gazette ...it's encouraging that a film of such competence and professional virtues could be realized outside the Hollywood industrial complex. Audience Member [font=Arial]At Last’ is director Tom Anton’s labor of love. For ten years he has been writing and rewriting the script which he finally got to shoot in New Orleans in 2004, just months before Hurricane Katrina. When George Lucas failed with his first feature film, ‘THX-1138’, he was given some very good advice. Francis Ford Coppola sat the talented young director down and told him that he needed to do something small, something that was very personal to him. The product of this conversation was arguably Lucas’ best directorial effort, ‘American Graffiti’. Anton, a first time filmmaker, seems to have picked up this same advice along the way to making ‘At Last’, as the film is a very personal tale based on the story of how he and his current wife, who co-wrote the project, were separated and reunited over twenty five years. Though the sentiment and idea is present in ‘At Last’, the film can come across at times as trite and a bit too corny for its own good.
