Lowell High School Reviews
Rating 3.74 out of 5 397 reviews
Nestled in the vibrant heart of downtown, Lowell High School boasts a legacy of excellence. While its academic prowess shines, some staff members raise eyebrows. In a locale where urban challenges loom, bolstering security becomes paramount. Implementing robust safety measures ensures students navigate the cityscape with peace of mind, mitigating potential risks. Despite occasional concerns, the school's dedication to nurturing young minds remains unwavering. Through vigilance and community collaboration, Lowell High School continues to uphold its commitment to providing a safe haven for learning and growth amidst the bustling downtown landscape.
As someone who went to Lowell High for all four years, I will say that the breadth of education that you are able to get there is wide and varied, and that you will be able to interact and form personal relationships with people from a multitude of different backgrounds. However, in terms of academics, sometimes it feels as if the administration doesn't believe in its students enough, which can lead to students more often than not, not reaching their full potential at the high school. There also seems to be a subtle kind of internal separation between students that Lowell High views as high achieving, and otherwise.
Lowell High School has excelled in preparing me for college. There are endless resources for every portion of the application process along with help with financial aid and scholarships. Additionally, there are classes that fit the needs of students and provide college credits as well. Although I feel prepared for colleges, there are some teachers that have made it difficult to learn as they create a hostile environment. Even after complaining to authority figures, student voices are not heard at times. That is one thing I would hope to see change; making students feel comfortable.
