Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah is brimming with confidence ahead of the highly anticipated north London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Reflecting on last season’s victory at the home of their rivals, Nketiah is eager to replicate that success once again, with the aim of making a significant contribution to the team.

“Hopefully! That’s the aim,” Nketiah said. “I want to push and help, not just me, everyone wants to finish strong and have something to celebrate at the end of the season.”

With a season filled with personal milestones, including his first Premier League hat-trick, UEFA Champions League goal, and England debut, Nketiah now sets his sights on scoring his first goal in the derby.

“As a fan of the club and a player who has come through the academy, I know what it means to the fans. I feel that as well, so we’re really eager,” Nketiah emphasised. “We’re pushing, every single player is giving their all, the staff are giving their all to make sure that we hopefully come back with something at the end of the season.”

Despite facing challenges in the second half of the season with fewer starting opportunities, Nketiah remains proud of his achievements and is determined to continue improving.

“I think I’ve hit some really good highs,” Nketiah stated. “Of course in the second half of the season I haven’t started as many games as I’d like, but these things happen. I think it’s a season to still be proud of and I’m only going to get better. All the experiences I’ve had this season are going to help me going forward.”

Acknowledging the importance of substitutes in crucial moments, Nketiah emphasised the need for every player to be ready to contribute to the team’s success.

“If you get one minute to come on, you’ve got to give your best minute. If you get ten minutes or you start, everyone’s got to be ready,” Nketiah said. “We’re all going to be needed and have our moment to contribute.”

With the unwavering support of Arsenal’s fans, Nketiah believes that the strong connection between the players and supporters can propel the team towards a memorable end to the season.

“I think it’s been amazing,” Nketiah said. “Credit to all the boys. Everyone is contributing, the staff as well, for everything we’ve done. We’ve put in a lot of work over this period and over the break we had and it’s really paying dividends now. We’re in the business end of the season so we’ve all got to be ready to contribute and help.”
