The life of the actress and model Capucine inspired this film by Michel Soutter, played by Capucine herself in the company of Heinz Béat, Antoinette Moya, Corinne Corderey and Jean-Pierre Malo.
the film was also inspired by some part of Capucine’s life and i have no idea which part she’s saying in the movie is real, but when she said
Perhaps, one day someone will make a film about despair, loneliness. I'd like to play that role. I know those things well.
there’s no doubt about it, that she’s talking about herself, that's Germaine not Irène in this scene.
Si le film est trop court j'y mettrais un rêve.
The general theatrical slightly dreamlike atmosphere suits the movie perfectly and adds to Capucine's role that, being partially inspired to her life, is at the same time fascinating and disorientating. Especially considering part of her personal history is still quite shrouded in mystery.
Minor highlights: Capucine's voice and accent (both in French and English), I melt, and the fact at some point they name dropped Marilyn, my worlds colliding.
