    Hi all,

Long time lurker on the BlackBerry Android phones. I am still on BlackBerry 10 for the next year or so I think, I just love the platform and the form factor of my Passport SE and it deals with my uses for the most part.

The BlackBerry Key 3 if it's every launched will probably be my next device but one thing I always wonder is about factory resets. A lot of users always recommend it for when issues arise with Android. Is this similar to wiping a BlackBerry 10 device clean and than reloading the software and the settings? How long does it normally take and what's the Android version of getting the settings and messages and contacts backed up?

It just seems like a fix that's so often recommended that I am wondering if this is a quick process or not.

    Thanks

    Yes.

3-10 minutes, depending on if you restore data, how much data, etc.

    Oreo.
