A new board shuffles every 2 minutes, allowing everyone in the room to compete for a high score.

Swipe across the tiles to form words - you can also tap or type.

Fill up the Reveal button by finding words. Every 20 words earns a Reveal.

Press the Define button to see a definition hint of a word hidden in the board!

Points & Scoring

Each letter has a point value:
AEIOULNSTR = 1 point
DG = 2 points
BCMP = 3 points
FHVWY = 4 points
K = 5 points
JX = 8 points
QZ = 10 points

The points of the letters are then multiplied based on the length of the word. The longer the word, the more points:
5 letters: 2x the points
6 letters: 3x the points
7 letters: 4x the points
8+ letters: 5x the points

For example QUIZZES is worth (10 + 1 + 1 + 10 + 10 + 1 + 1) x 4 = 136 points!

What Words Are Valid?

Wordshake offers 2 word lists for gameplay - Standard and Expert.

Our Standard word list is loaded by default, and is accessible for players of all ages. For those seeking a challenge, our Expert word list includes the full North American Scrabble Players Association word list, unlocking all alternate spellings and archaic words.

Wordshake's default "standard" word list is carefully curated to be accessible and fun for all ages, ensuring every word is defined. Note: Not all "expert" words include definition tooltips yet.

We strive to keep Wordshake a positive space by excluding all offensive words. If you encounter any word or definition that you believe should be reviewed or added to our default list, please contact us.
