"Rare and Previously Unreleased Recordings 1965-1972" says the CD sleeve. Well, no. Though many of these recordings don't exist anywhere else in a digital or CD format, all had been previously released. And the earliest is from 1963, not 1965. Most are needle-drops lifted directly from 7-inch records. The label, Nite Train International, wasn't really interested in quality here on any level, but they did provide a service by collating a bunch of good Z.Z. Hill material that was and remains hard to find as of this writing. Most notably, it's the only place to find Z.Z.'s first chart hit, "You Were Wrong." Here's what's here:
Ain't Too Proud To Beg (1972 Audrey Records B-Side)
Turn Back The Hands Of Time (197? MHR Records B-Side)
My Girl (1976 Hill Records B-Side, recorded in 1971)
It Can Be Fixed (1971 Audrey Records B-Side)
Nine Pound Steel (197? MHR Records A-Side)
Don't Make Me Pay For His Mistakes (1971 Hill Records A-Side)
Mr Nobody's Somebody (1974 MHR Records A-Side)
Sweet Woman (1972 Audrey Records B-Side)
One Way Love Affair (1964 MH Records B-Side)
Think People (1971 Hill Records B-Side)
You Better Take Time (1971 Audrey Records A-Side)
Five Will Get You Ten (1963 Mesa Records A-Side)
The Right To Love (1963 Mesa Records B-Side)
You Were Wrong (1964 MH / Hill Records B-Side)
