In every angle, this city hall will always deliver a photo perfect view. You can go inside and explore this architecture or go wander outside and walk around the mini lake. During summer, you will see a lot of people enjoying their time having picnic on the garden or chit chatting with their friends and loved ones.

Hanover New Town Hall is a building worth visiting for both history and architecture lovers. This time I looked for architectural lines in it that I had not seen before and this building surprised me again. Spiral staircases, columns, arches, doors, balustrades, the golden ratio, domes, ornamentation, reflections - these are just some of the things that this building delights, encourages discovery and engages. A visit here is a must when in Hanover. Today, the city municipality is located here, maybe that's why entrance without a tour is free. There is also paid parking at the town hall itself.

This is a MUST in your list of places to visit in Hannover. Unfortunately the access to the terrace and the 360 Panasonic view is currently unavailable because of COVID. The entrance to the hall is free and you will get surprised by some city representations (after the war, back in the earliest 20s, currently..). It's a beautiful visit.

The New Town Hall (Neues Rathaus) rises with its beauty in the center of Lower Saxony capital just by a small pond and big Maschsee Lake. It's the seat of Municipal government being built in the early 20c, replacing the old medieval Town Hall which is in Altstadt (old town). Visiting is totally free except climbing the Dome. Amazing and rich in details architecture both, outside and inside. Most interesting I found four big and precise models of Hannover over ages. The first is from 1689 as a fortified medieval town. After that two models from 1939 and 1945 show the city before and after WWII when it was totally demolished, and finally the fourth one represents the modern and prosperous city of today. Free to visit are also terrific mosaics on the first floor. Climbing the Dome is paying few Euros, but problem is the waiting time (in our case over an hour) so we didn't make it

In the new town hall you can go inside and see some models of the old town. But for me the beauty on the outside is the most important thing, and it's very well done.

Unfortunately the tower is closed due to COVID-19 and the end of the season. But still it is very beautiful outside

A great place … the central hall was pointed out to us buy a member of the tourist information. He also recommended a book The Red Thread . Which then had us on a tourist route , great help and well worth the 3€. The main reason for visit was to ascend the (not straight)lift to the top of the tower , absolutely fantastic and views were as you would expect perfect.

Stunning building with a viewing deck on top of the dome! Only 6 people can go up at a time so there’s a bit of a waiting time but you can stay as much as you want and admire Hannover from above! There are three viewing platform levels that offer a full panoramic view of Hannover.

It is a wonderful Townhall. The building is excellent. The problem is definitely going up with the lift as it is only restricted to 6 people and we have to go to the third floor to take a lift. The waiting time is unfortunately too long. You can buy a ticket for four euro per person at the entrance.

Very nice Rathaus. But still I believe the one in Hamburg is nicer 😁 apparently you can go up and take photos from the top the city. But it is currently closed and opens in spring again

Just the symbol of Hannover! The most beautiful Rathaus I have ever seen. The location near lake makes it even more magnificent. It is worth to go to the observation desk - views are breathtaking and it costs only 4 euro. The unique elevator which takes you to the roof is very interesting too. The only thing is that you have to wait to get there as it only takes 6 people per ride. But totally must visit place. 👍

It was fascinating, Instagramable ambiance even late afternoon a lot of local tourist visited the place especially the observatory deck. There is entrance fee their cast 4 euro for adults and 3,50 for children closing time at 5:30 pm.

Nice historical building. Tower was closed, but should be a 5 star when the tower is open again. Historical 3d models of town from 1680, 1939, 1945 and today was really nice to see.

Worth taking a closer look at the detail and work put into the reconstruction of it. If you have a chance go to the Neues Rathaus a couple of blocks down the street and check out the city scale model before and after WWII.

As a man who obsessed with doors, I bothered by new and non-arch door. Expect that, It shows us a good facade and great details. You should see that old dude.

Really beautiful building and surroundings with a park and a pond. Unfortunately, the last time I visited it, it was under renovation with some scaffolding.

Nice church on the market square. Interesting place if you like historical buildings. The door is something that is worth to mention and to see.

Though the place has a history but architecture wise I did not find it very intriguing as compared to churches in Spain and Italy built around same time. You may find it interesting to visit if you like historical and old buildings regardless of the architecture.

Very lovely church with history. You just have to pay a visit! Many excavations and structures are worth seeing inside and outside the church. A midday prayer meeting was held during the visit and I really liked it.

Probably one of the noticeable landmarks in Hanover. It is a great starting point when traveling around the city. During the summer time, there is a beach court and some recreational activities outside. You cannot miss this church when visiting Hanover.

I attended an organ concert and Frank Schult's painting exhibition in this church. A powerful, inspiring organ sound that shakes the imagination, combined with technically perfect images of Frank Schult, creates an unforgettable atmosphere. June 21, 2022, Fete de la Musique, 17:25, performance by the female choir Vocalinda. Performing with women is a wonderful experience. A very beautiful and spacious church. The staffs are very nice and friendly people. Organ music is often performed in the evenings.

This is a classic German central square Church rebuilt in red bricks you're about to see in almost every German town. Marktkirche means the main Market square Church, so you can easily conclude it's here from the medieval era - in this case from 14 cent. It's a Protestant Church (with Martin Luther statue in front), so don't expect lavish interiors. Add to that WWII allied bombing devastations and you're about to see a simple, yet beautiful high vaulted Gothic brick interior along with some modern art bronze statues inside and a golden triptych. Anyway, it's worth entering and it's free

This museum is worth a visit in Hannover if you would like to learn a little about each of the middle ages, Renaissance and Baroque periods. These exhibitions include enough English to get the gist of what is on offer, the upper level has descriptions for many interesting artefacts for German speakers only.

Currently featuring an interesting temporary exhibition on Bauhaus dance presenting reconstructed costumes from Schlemmer’s Triadic Ballet as well as photos and other materials, with dance performances, lectures and workshops for children making Bauhaus dolls. The permanent exhibition is based on the private collection of August Kestner, focusing on ancient Egypt, classical antiquity, coins and handicrafts. A little dry.

The selection is very interesting and offeres a lot to learn. There doesn't seem to be a steady flow of tourists so you will have a quiet a d peaceful experience.

Loved it, the Garden was really nice. The only thing I think that they can improve on is the fact that most items in the museum are in German. Here's the catch, not everyone speaks German. So if the have the souvenirs that read in English or the books about botanical garden translated in English for those who can't read nor speak the language that would be awesome. Overall a really nice place to visit with kids, could be use for educational purposes. Well maintained.

Nice place for nature lover. Good and big place. There is entry fee but for students there is offer, which is around 1-2 euro.so it's best for students to travel.

There is an entry fee. If you go during Monday to Wednesday that fee is less, if you are a student from Mon-Wed it costs 1,50 but during the other days it is 4,50 maybe more, depending whether you want to go to the museum or not (which is closed now). I would advice any person that goes wants to go there to go during spring/summer time, as in winter time there’s no flowers and everything looks a bit dead. Apart from that, it is such a beautiful place and it has a lot of history.

There is always a reason to keep coming back here, the gardens are just so beautifully designed and well maintained. Keep your eye out for events over the festival period, makes a great location to take in some culture. Really to get money's worth from admission price, pack a picnic basket and spend an afternoon inside.

Extensive gardens on a monumental scale. The layout is symmetrical and there are many garden rooms you can visit including the re-creation of a Rococo and Baroque garden. Much statuary and many fountains as well.

Really beautiful Garten. We went there on last Friday. Unfortunately the flowers are still blooming. If you are planning here and sea life you can buy both tickets together with discount prices. Visit there website before you go then you can find out there special festivals events.

Nice park to walk around. There are some interesting statues and fountains. I think it’s worth getting the combo ticket that includes Berggarten and Herrenhauser.

One of the nicest places in the region of Hannover. Notes: avoid noon time visits because the fountains stop watering; bring some snacks/drinks for a picnic. I rated 3 stars by comparing it to gardens in other European countries but if you live or are passing by Niedersachsen it’s definitely worth visiting in summer/spring.

A very large Baroque-style garden lined with well-trimmed trees and marble statues. Not all the flowers were in bloom, and the ponds were not super clean. Not crowded nor noisy; a great place to relax.

It was destroyed in World War II, and was left in ruins as a war memorial. The church was built in the 14th century in the centre of Hanover, succeeding a chapel, and a Romanesque church built in 1163.

Aegidienkirche is a war memorial in Hanover, Germany. It dates from 1347 and was destroyed on October 8, 1943 by the bombardment of Hanover during World War II. Aegidienkirche is now a war memorial dedicated to victims of war. Hiroshima, which is the Sister City of Hanover donated what is known as the Peace Bell. This church left a deep memory in my heart. Very strong sentiments and lots of thoughts. Built in XIV and one of the three churches in the Hannover’s old city, it was partially destroyed during the WWII and now serves as a memorial for those who died in wars. It is also a part of « Roter Faden Hannover » touristic route.

Aegidienkirche is set in the very center and there used to be a Church here from 12 century onwards which was several times rebuilt over centuries. Intense allied bombing 1943-45 left the Tower standing but the Church roofless. Beneath the bell tower you can find a bell from Hiroshima as a present from Japanese government

An old church which was destroyed during the World War II. Now it's left in ruins as a war memorial. It's a sad but very impressive place. One wall of the church is covered with leaves which looks very nice like a symbol that the life will win a war in the end. Located very close to the New Town Hall.

One of the underrated sites in Hanover. This is not to far from the center and it is definitely worth your time. You can spend few minutes inside and take in all the quiet and peace the place offers. It is also photo worthy ☺️

A church that carries a profound historical significance as a war memorial. When people visit they just usually stand there and reflect so it is usually quiet and peaceful. For people who like history and contemplative places… this is one you must visit.

Probably one of the nicest spots in Hannover, although not too big. I think the Altstadt or old city center and the new town hall are definitely the highlights.

Has a really good vibe to it, especially before corona when all the restaurants, cafes and bars were open and you could just sit outside some cafe and enjoy your cup of coffee with the old European vibe.

Old city of Hannover isn't very big but it's nice - with old half-timbered houses and old churches. Most beautiful places in Altstadt - Holzmarkt square (with many half-timberd houses and Leibnitz house) and located nearby Ballhofplatz square (with open-air cafe terraces and trees).

Altstadt is the old part of Hannover from the renaissance days of Germany. Most of it was destroyed from Allied bombers during the Second World War. But, the parts of Altstadt that remain are a must stop for any tourists to take the time and walk through this historic area. The buildings that remain are in good condition are really fascinating to walk into if you have the chance to check any of them out. There are many cafés, bars, and restaurants throughout this area to check out. Definitely recommend!

My second visit to Hannover, as someone who has visited many cities in Germany, I can say that Hannover both gives the atmosphere of a big city and the calmness of a small city. In this square, you can find many shopping stores and many eating and drinking options.

This area is amazing. There are so many restaurants at one place for different food varieties. There are some shops for fresh vegetables. Good place.

Amazing place for grabbing a bite or hanging around. Lots of options to choose from. If you are on your way to the museums come by to have a coffee or Prosecco or come after for a lunch.

I found out about Markthalle Hannover thanks to the Red Thread (a very touristy thing) in Hannover. I decided to start from Markthalle Hannover and go backwards. Many things to eat here and highly recommend you guys to try going the Red Thread backwards 🤣

A great find, definitely recommend lunch in here. Lots of choice and a great atmosphere. All the stall holders are very friendly and provide a fuss free meal. If you think some of the restaurants in the Hannover are quiet this is probably where everyone is.

There are many food, grocery and vegetable shops inside. In fact, I could find a number of fresh vegetables at the small vendors which you wouldn't find in big grocery shops. You can find many Asian and European cuisines inside in one hall.

Varied options to eat, lunch or snacks. Prices are good and vary according to the specific restaurant choosen. I recommend for foodies.

Perfect in its class. Wild selection of groceries and goods from all over the world. And above all tons of thematic eateries, cafees and wine bars with very cosy and informal setting, reasonable pricing and great quality. Highly commended to all foodies!

Because I have visited a similar Markthalle in Frankfurt,I decided to visit this one at Hannover. However, this is a smaller place and rather boring. There are fewer shops and restaurants. Prices are unfairly high with bland menus. I bought two different shops. Not so tasty. There is a Bahaj shop to buy snacks in bulk and a special lounge for members. It's however not worth a visit really

Nice place! Located in the historical center of Hannover close to Marktkirche. There are a lot of different food, and always a lot of people. The bad thing is that around 7 p.m. many shops and cafes were closed

I had a simple but good quality meal for only 6 euro's. A lot of food shops from all over. Crowded when I was there on a friday afternoon but not unpleasant.
