- With the album Hollywood Town Hall surprised the American band The Jayhawks, by the Dutch public in 1993 at the height of the grunge with a beautiful melancholy country rock plate. The razor-sharp harmony vocals by Gary Patricia Ann and Mark Olson called to mind the Everly Brothers, already referred the gentlemen prefer to the more contrarian Louvin Brothers. After the slightly less coherent successor Tomorrow The Green Grass (1994) Olson left the band and went to grief of the fans The Jayhawks as a driemansband on. Under the leadership of Patricia Ann developed the band into a pop group which is less by roots and more by alternative pop and rock left. The sixth album Rainy Day Music surprised by the presence of some guests as famous as Matthew Sweet, Chris Stills, Jakob Dylan and Bernie Leadon (Eagles) and production services of the heavyweights Ethan Johns (Ryan Adams, Counting Crows) and Rick Rubin. On strong songs if Madman is a return to the traditional sound from the early days to hear.
