This is Alan Watts.

Alan revolutionized modern philosophy by combining Eastern and Western ideologies.

He could think for himself and did not conform to traditional beliefs.

Here’s 3 things I learned from him:

CHALLENGE THE STATUS QUO

Watts questioned traditional beliefs and interpretations about life and purpose.

The traditional way of doing things is not always the most efficient.

Doing so, let him understand fundamental truths, peeling away the layers of accepted misconceptions.

FOCUS ON THE NOW

Don’t dwell on the past or the future.

Learn to appreciate the beauty and wonder of just “being.”

Watts encouraged people to live in the present moment. Take it one day at a time.

Today, worry about today. Tomorrow, you have tomorrow to worry about.

QUESTION EVERYTHING, EVEN YOURSELF!

Watts didn’t just challenge others. He challenged his own ideas and beliefs, as well.

He always explored different ideas, never settling for one answer.
