Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

For the first time in more than eight years, I was very disappointed in the meal at The Snug. For 28 euros, the prawn scampi seemed out of a frozen package--overcooked with a bland batter. Salad and chips were just okay. What really shocked me...More

We stopped off for some lunch here last week. My boyfriend ordered the seafood chowder for starters and I ordered the chicken wings. These were both average enough. For mains we ordered the lambs liver served with mash & veg and cod goujons and chips....More

Very bland low quality unfresh food . Avoid at all costs. I think a lot of the food was microwaved. Soggy chicken wings , Bland fish goujons that were advertised as fresh cod and were neither fresh nor cod. There was also some slimey brown...More

I had the medallions of monkfish and salmon on a base of champ as the mains and the Pak smoked salmon with durrus cheese for starter. Both were delicious well presented and reasonably priced. The one small criticism I have is that the sides are...More

We had a wonderful dinner at The Snug tonight. They've built an outdoor area where we were able to enjoy the food and the atmosphere of Bantry. Our server, Nmenja (spelling?) was friendly and personable. He made us feel like part of the family. We...More

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Food was delicious. Steak was mouth watering and salmon equally delicious. Separate frier for chips (coeliac). Would definitely return. A little on the pricey side but worth it.
