- Charlie N15 contributionsGet on the Rock and Roll! Definitely the best pier in Blackpool especially if you’re a thrill seekerWant the thrills and spills of the Pleasure Beach but don’t want to sell your organs off to afford a day ticket? Want some proper, traditional seaside fun? Want to experience some rides that you won’t find anywhere else? Then look no further than Blackpool’s South Pier! Located right next to the Sandcastle Water Park, this pier has stood the tests of time and now is better than ever to visit this place! From arcade machines to fairground rides that are looked after by the Blackpool Pier Company, the friendly staff are always willing to give you your money’s worth on the rides and unlike say Alton Towers they actually run them the proper way. They have been cleared to run by health and safety as they have done for many many years so ignore what the press says! The latest addition is the Rock and Roll, a newer faster version of the old Roller Bob ride that used to live on the pier many years ago. Very very fast and a very fun experience that I cannot recommend enough! Also on the pier is the newly refurbished Waltzer, the famous Break Dance, the Cliffhanger Miami Ride, the Crazy Coaster and a Dodgem! For real thrill seekers they have the SkyCoaster which flings you over the edge of the pier and the Skyscreamer Slingshot which is definitely not to be missed! Also loads of food options, a bar, a massive screen to watch sport’s events on and so much more this is definitely one not to be missed! Rides are on an affordable token basis with the exception of the SkyCoaster and SkyScreamer which are to be paid separately!Visited June 2023Travelled soloWritten 26 June 2023
- Cazz K143 contributionsOne of the best piersGood views if Blackpool from this pier. Decent arcade, able to purchase food and drink at reasonable costs. Plenty of seating in the middle, usual run if tacky shops, but it adds to the pier experience. Worth a visitVisited August 2023Written 2 August 2023

If you're after thrills + spills you need to come here! Rides, arcades, food stalls etc, and 2 very nice bars both with outdoor seating areas, the sports bar and gin bar, both trendy places, with comfy seats! Overall, very suitable for families and young people.

We had a nice walk along the pier. At the end there are quite a number of adrenaline rides. Didn't see anyone on them though - i'm not sure they were even open. There are also amusements, a bar and the usually stalls.

Visited South Pier a,while ago and my elderly mother was knocked over by a child and badly cut her leg. The staff were amazing, couldn't do enough to help. The manager Debbie quickly offered 1st aid and a lady called Tash dressed the wound. They made sure my Mother was looked after while I took my dad back to the hotel with the Grandkids so I could take her to A&E. They arranged a taxi for us. Can't say Thank you enough.

Yes, most days during the summer season they can be found on the beaches close to the piers, (weather permitting) and rember it depends on the tides. Check the tide times beforehand.
