The View censors Robert De Niro's rant about Donald Trump as fans share anger

Robert De Niro had a lot to say about former President Donald Trump during his appearance on The View, but much of his speech was censored by producers.

Trump supporters share their thoughts on the trial

During his appearance on The View, Robert De Niro launched into a fervent tirade about former President Donald Trump, who is reportedly considering another run for the White House.

However, much of his speech was censored due to the actor's use of profanity, including multiple instances of the f-bomb.

In the uncensored portion of his speech, De Niro warned: "Imagine if he really won the election: it's over. We are going to experience a huge civil conflict.

"What he says at his events is that he is going to hit someone in the face, who says that? You don't tell people that. He wants to do the worst for this country."

The View is recorded in front of a live audience, requiring the technical team to swiftly censor De Niro's rapid-fire speech.

Despite the censorship, viewers could still see the actor's lips moving on screen.

One viewer called for a lip reader, asking on X: "Are there lip readers out there who can tell us what Robert De Niro was just beeped for a full ten seconds about Donald Trump?

"Bob frequently plays a mafiosa type, but he feels the Donald is one in real life!"

"The best part of De Niro's comments were bleeped out!!!" exclaimed one fan.

Another eagerly requested: "I'll need the uncensored Robert De Niro interview please."

During a lighter moment, the hosts engaged De Niro in conversation about his illustrious career.

Alyssa Farah Griffin, while discussing an upcoming tribute, inadvertently suggested De Niro was much older than his years.

She announced: "The first ever De Niro Con is going to be taking place at the Tribeca Film Festival. Whoopi's going to mod a panel, I understand, with you and Billy Crystal ... It's the celebration of 80 years of your career."

De Niro, taken aback, interjected with a puzzled "80 years" prompting Joy to jest that this would make him 120.

Alyssa quickly corrected herself, explaining she meant to celebrate the span of his career, not his age.

Alyssa then inquired about what De Niro was anticipating most about the event.

His response was candid: "I don't know. I have no idea. I'm hoping it's not gonna be embarrassing, that's all. They wanted to do it. I said, 'Oh this is gonna be interesting.' Let's see."
