Dexter Lloyd Lucas 1927-2023


Loving husband Dexter, of Gulfport went peacefully to be with the Lord at the age of 96, November 23, 2023. He was born in Ohio. Served in the Navy in World War II and the Korean War. He was in the US Coast Guard Auxiliary in FL for 13 years. Dexter is survived by his wife Millie, children Diane (Jackie), Michael (Shirley), MaryAnne (Ron), and Madelynn (Rich), grandchildren, Isaiah Dexter, Amber, Chelsea, Joe, Jenna, Kelly, Daniel and Stacy, great-grandchildren, Joshua, Lily, Hannah and Geno.


Dexter was a member of Community Bible Baptist Church and the Bible Study Class led by Harry Mills. He loved country music, old western movies, being on the water boating and fishing, volunteering at the local food pantry and vegetable gardening. Dexter was always willing to give a helping hand to any of his neighbors. He and his wife enjoyed many cruises.


His Celebration of Life service is Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at the Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home, 7820 38th Ave North, St. Petersburg. Visitation at 9am with service at 10:30am. Military burial will be at Sarasota National Cemetery at 1:30pm.
