Big band singer "pretty" Kitty Kallen started her career with Jack Teagarden before moving to Jimmy Dorsey where she hit the jackpot with "Besame Mucho". A stint with Harry James followed resulting in two further number one hits - "I'm Beginning To See The Light" and "It's Been A Long, Long Time". After World War Two ended and tired of touring with the bands, Kitty decided to go solo and it is this "middle" period of her career, from 1946 to 1952, where the 25 tracks featured on this CD are from.
Featured are her chart successes - "Kiss Me Sweet", "Juke Box Annie", "Our Lady Of Fatima" and "The Aba Daba Honeymoon". "My Heart Belongs To Daddy", the result from her one and only recording session and collaboration with Artie Shaw is also included.
Kitty Kallen went on to further success and her "Little Things Mean A Lot" became a smash hit world-wide in 1954 - the song remained at No. 1 in America for nine weeks!
She resides in New Jersey although she spends winter in Mexico. We are very proud and honoured that this CD was produced with her blessing and support. The photographs used in the booklet were generously lent to us by "Our Lady Miss Kitty Kallen"!
