We have dined at this restaurant a few times over the years. Honestly, the reason we go back is because of the delicious homemade herb rolls. I was disappointed to see that they now charge .75 per roll snd they have to be ordered individually. The used to be complimentary. For the price they charge for dinner, they should be able to include a couple rolls for free. Left a bad taste in my mouth, figuratively speaking.

We had a fabulous birthday dinner for my husband. The tavern and history is so charming and every meals was delicious. Half of us ordered the restaurant week special scallop scampi and the lobster bisque and the Potato crusted haddock was great. Portion sizes and presentation was perfect. Service attentive. Would definitely recommend.

Food was amazing. Waiter (Dan) was amazing. Hostess was a little flighty, but equally amazing. We will definitely start making this a regular spot!!!

Restaurant Week first time exploring. Really enjoyed the colonial historic structure and setting. Absolutely fabulous carrot cake with honeyed pecans. Oh my! We’ll be back to further explore the menu. So glad it’s open!

We reserved the Tavern, but were seated in the dining room, which is nice, but not where we really wanted to be. We assumed the Tavern was busy. The food choices were good, but one person had steak and it was poor. Could have been a much better cut of meat for the price. The pasta dish and crab cakes were very good.

We were so happy to have been seated next to the large fireplace downstairs on a cold Saturday February evening. The atmosphere was lively and cozy. The inn and restaurant felt quintessential new england charm. We were very happy with the service and food, very delicious. The waitress was very warm, friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. Would definitely return to this restaurant!

Sat at the bar - the Bartenders were phenomenal! It was a busy night with UNH hockey and several functions at the Inn. That may have effected the food.

Great Place to eat out for a pre-game meal when you're done with the college bar vibe. Staff was fantastic. Bar seating did seem to be a bit cramped though. If your a tall or larger body person, I'd suggest reserving a table. This place is worth the money.

Celebrated my daughter’s birthday here who is a UNH alumni & had an amazing experience!!! Everything was cooked to perfection & the drinks were outstanding!!! A wonderful perk was opening a little early so we could enjoy dessert & get to the hockey game In plenty of time!!! We cannot wait to go back!!!

I thought about how I could write a review that would allow the restaurant to get criticism but applaud their finer points. It’s been difficult, but here goes. The setting, the grounds, the lovely and historical building, the views. This wasn’t our first time but we’ve gone here two times and both on Valentines Day. Our first time, our waitress was outstanding and knew all the history and information about the buildings and the person who built the building and many of the buildings for the King at the time. The food was “Ok” but the time we had was nice. Mostly because of the waitress and the surrounding. Our second time was just this week and it was such a disappointment that unless the person doing the menu and the cooking is changed. Notice I didn’t say Chef because I feel the menu on Valentine’s Day which consisted of, a Hamburger, a fried chicken dish, two versions of a fish meal and salmon. There was a specials list but it didn’t state what was in the special. All the other waiters and waitresses explained the specials to the patrons but I didn’t pay much attention to it because we were waiting for our waitress to explain that to us. Again the selections on the menu were less then attractive so I asked about the specials and the waitress said there here. So I asked her to explain what they were. The second one which as I recall had no mention of a piece of steak, she said the one selection was a Delmonico steak! I said stop there I’ll take that. I told her medium rare. My wife had scallops scampi. Both sounded awesome. We received our food very quickly. I’ll now explain the presentation and what was wrong with the whole meal. My wife’s scampi was soaked in oil like they had a pile of noodles all stuck together from the starch, that when they grabbed the portion, had to mix oil in it to free it up. The scallops weren’t seared much if any and had zero flavor. Being on the Seacoast we have connections to scallops and lobster right off the boat as many do.

My husbands first time ever going there and he was highly disappointed that his entree and lobster bisque were both cold. The pasta with his meal didn’t seem cooked thoroughly either. The drinks were great and my meal was spectacular. I do with is had chosen a seat that wasn’t in the smack dab middle of two other couples but they were great company as we all chatted about the dessert menu. Although my husband says he won’t go back, I think I can convince him thanks to the ambience offered.

Finding the driveway was a bit tricky at night, but what a treat when we sat down! Friendly, attentive service from both the waitstaff and the maitre d'. Delicious appetizer (crab cakes) and entrees (shrimp gnocchi and mushroom ravioli). Generous wine pours. We'll be back ASAP.

Lovely historic tavern setting. Reminded me of a few places in Annapolis MD. The setting was exactly what we were hoping for on a mid-week winter’s eve. The drinks were delicious - I had the Black Manhattan and my wife had a Coconut Mojito. We had the buffalo cauliflower as an appetizer. I had fried chicken and my wife haddock. All was very good. It was a quiet evening in a cozy tavern which was perfect. Definitely will be back again.

NYE dinner at 7 PM. Loved the coziness and quiet of the Tavern and wonderful unrushed and attentive service. Had two demi size winter salads and split the pot roast and the brownie dessert. All very ample and delicious.

We had a lovely time at Three Chimneys. The restaurant is very cozy and there were decorations for Christmas and New Year’s. Our server was excellent and indulged in our curiosity about the building and its history. The food was delicious and there was enough for us to take leftovers home. We’re already planning our return visit.

Our dining experience was nothing short of fabulous! My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful intimate dinner in a beautiful historical setting. The menu was apropos to the historical New England Inn. Our dinner started with a homemade clam chowder, then we had a scrumptious and tender potroast with turnips and carrots and ended this delicious meal with a creamy creme brulee. All the food was fresh, full of flavor, and not covered in salt like so many restaurant do. Our server, Keara, was terrific! She was professional, very knowledgeable about the menu, attentive to food allergies and any special needs, she was there when we the needed her and not obtrusive. Keara is the best server we've been served by in many years and should be a trainer, if she's not already. We highly recommend Three Chimneys Inn and we'll be back soon!

Fish and chips were disappointing. Not all the fish was coated and for beer battered I would’ve thought it would be crispy. It was soft battered, my fish came in three pieces not all battered, soggy texture. I would not order it again. I want to like this restaurant because love the tavern atmosphere but my husband’s choice was good but not great either.
